３時間強なので２枚組（八戸〜仙台）（仙台〜東京）というボリュームがあるＤＶＤです。
新線の八戸からスタートしますが、トンネルの多い事は確かですが（特にあの２５キロのトンネルは・・・）盛岡までノンストップなのでかえってトンネルを出た区間が映えます。

後は何と言っても盛岡から仙台以降のあまりトンネルが多くない区間のハイスピード走行でしょう！
（各駅のビデオ持っていて新幹線らしくない（早くなったら１０分前後ですぐ停車・・）事から比べると爽快です。田園風景が多く、車窓が一番はっきりしています。
仙台からは（２枚目）、列車本数が増えるためか駅でスピードダウンするのが（１１０キロ）難点ですが、その代わりに、Ｅ２系、１０００番台、Ｅ４系ＭＡＸ１６両、と山形新幹線＋等のバリエーションで多くのすれ違いが楽しめます。
（ただ、宇都宮〜大宮まで窓にホコリや汚れがひどくなり、見づらくなります（評価を下げたかったのですが、変更が出来ないので）この点を改良して欲しいのですが（列車通り新幹線ＤＶＤは良くこれが発生するようです）

最後は東京までの都市風景（埼京線ＤＶＤともなる便利な区間（苦笑）とおまけであるＥ２系（特に八戸開業用新型）解説、走行シーンと駅等の説明が充実しています（１０分以上）

運転席から本当に撮影しているため、ほこり（水滴？）がかかる区間もありますが、充分見えますしかえって実車走行（窓の表示から撮影車両がＪ５２編成とわかります）だという緊張感も味わえるのではないでしょうか？

一気に見るのも良いですが（新幹線なので）すれ違い列車等何度も見る
楽しみもあり、ボリューム満点と言えます。

運転手の声や車内放送も時々流れ、ＢＧＭ的に聞いているのも楽しいかもしれない。２７５ｋｍ／ｈのスピード感があって普段見ることができない走行風景はやはり見もの。ただ、トンネル内はほとんど真っ暗で、ときどき反射材マークがキラリと光って通り過ぎていく。ちょっと残念。岩手一戸トンネルは陸上トンネル世界一約２５ｋｍなので画面を見る限りでは退屈かも。雰囲気を味わうにはいいかもしれませんね。

普段は車窓からでも見過ごしてしまう景色もこのＤＶＤならしっかり見れます。東北新幹線はやて号の最速２７５キロの展望映像はスピード感に溢れ、また、運転手の速度・通過駅確認の声や、車内放送も入っていて、はやて号の車内にいるようです。自宅にいながら気軽に「はやて」の空気が味わえます。
