   2003年末に、NHKテレビ放送50周年ドラマとして放送された『川、いつか海へ』のサウンドトラック盤。音楽を担当したのは、映画、ドラマ、CMなどの音楽を精力的に手がける岩代太郎だ。

   倉本聰、野沢尚、三谷幸喜という3人の有名脚本家が名を連ねた豪華なドラマに呼応するように、サントラでも、東京都交響楽団のほか宮本文昭（オーボエ）、長谷川陽子（チェロ）、矢部達哉（ヴァイオリン）という3人の実力派ソリストを起用。聴き手の心の奥にある“感じやすい部分”に直に触れてくるような音色と想像力をかきたてるメロディが渾然となった楽曲は、BGM的になんとなく聞くことなど許してくれない絶対的な存在感に満ちている。（剛吉若寸也）

最初のテーマを聞いて涙が出ました。
壮大で、優しくて、けれども力強くて…。
３人のソリストの競演も豪華ですね。
サントラとしてドラマが見たくなるのはもちろんですが、この曲単体でも立派な交響組曲として聴かせてくれます。
岩代さん、またすごい曲を書きましたね。

NHKの年末ドラマを見ましたが、ドラマの内容よりも岩代太郎さんの音楽の方が、ずっと素敵だと思いました。レジェンド・オブ・フォールのような、なつかしくかつ広がりのあるクラック好みの音楽だとおもいます。岩代さんのNHKドラマ「緋色の記憶」の音楽も、いいですね。

ドラマの映像と音楽のマッチングがよかったので、サントラCDを購入しましたが、少し期待はずれでした。

ドラマチックな曲は曲数が少ない上に演奏時間も短く、残りの大部分はドラマを見ている際にあまり印象に残らなかったスローで静か目の曲が占めています。こういう曲は人によって好き好きですが、私には今ひとつダラダラとアクセントに欠けていて退屈に感じられました。ドラマチックな方を大音量でどっぷりと楽しみたかったので、がっかりです。
