大友良英、ビル・ラズウェル、芳垣安洋という、ボーダーレスかつ実験的な音を生み出している3人のセッション・アルバム。4曲それぞれにアプローチは異なるが、ほぼ全編即興の演奏だ。たとえば「Crab」はラズウェルのブチブチにうねるベースと、芳垣のシャープなドラミングが、大蛇がのたうち回るようなグルーヴを作り出し、その上で大友のメタリックなノイズ・ギターが暴れまくる。最後の「Seaweeds」はリズムレスの空間に、ベースのドローンやトランペットやエレクトロニクスが浮遊する、アンビエント寄りの曲。3人それぞれの個性が存分に発揮された、ダークでクールな作品だ。（小山 守）
