デビューCDに続いてメロディックなゴシックワールドを披露してくれたBATTLELORE。この2ndアルバムでは全体をピュアなHR/HM路線に変更し、マイルドにフィニッシュしている。いままでに数々のゴシック/ドゥームバンドが女性ボーカルを導入してきたが、ここまでハッシュなグラウル系ボーカルとマッチしたのは稀だと思う。上質の男女ボーカルの絡み合いを堪能できる。雰囲気としてはNightwishの女性パートを少なくした感じ。パワーメタルファンでありゴシックファンであるなら、何もためらうことなく必聴！ドラマチック系の中でも筆頭格に入る逸材だ。

男女混声+デスボイス(ゲスト)のシンガーを容するフィンランドのBATTLELORE、「指輪物語」をテーマにした2ndアルバム。シンフォニックでゴシック掛った楽曲は、壮大でファンタジック。重厚なサウンドの上で奏でられる美しいキーボードは楽曲を情景的に。そして、更に彼らの世界観を際立たせる。叙情的で美しく…時にはアグレッシブでエモーショナル。しかし、本来ゴシック・メタルの持っている閉塞感や絶望感、陰欝さ、といった要素は余り感じさせない。やはり、ファンタジックな印象が一番強い。 アプローチの手法は全く違うが、Bal-Sagothとは相通ずる世界観だ。又、女声がゴシック・メタルにありがちなソプラノでは無く、中音域な点も好感。お勧めは#4、#9、#1、#10辺り。
