   先行シングルがあるでもなく、フルアルバムでもなく、このミニアルバムのための書き下ろしが収録された他では聴けない5曲入りの1枚。ASA-CHANGの絶妙にイナタいドラムが粋なタイトルチューン「面影」は、真似できない70s日本語ポップスのニュアンス。吐息さえもタダじゃない！ のは、彼女のヴォーカリゼーションの醍醐味だが、この曲ではどうやら“忘れたくないのに、忘れてしまう”もしくはその逆の思いも含んだ吐息だけに切なさも倍増だろう。

   全編で聴けるサウンド・プロダクトが昭和40年代の歌謡ショウのごときアンサンブルなのも、彼女ならではの世界だ。パーソナルな表現が身上のアーティストだが、このミニは本当に大事にしたい小品といった味わいをかもし出している。（石角友香）

ああ、なんてせつないのだ。本作では彼女特有の“かげり”が、明るくふるまおうとしている。ASA-CHANGのドラムを中心としたシンプルきわまりない音色と、叶わない渇望を投げかける歌声が、心地よいのに痛い。強烈な題名のインスト(2)での沈鬱な音風景も、特筆に価する。

イナタいテンポでも決して和ませてはくれないのが小島麻由美です。

冬というより暑い夏の午後的なサウンドなのですが、飲み物片手にのんびりとさせてくれないのはその詞の世界と声が作る世界のせいでしょう。聞き終わった後でもすっきりしない余韻をアートワークもきちんと表現していて素晴らしい一枚です。

タイトル曲の面影はASA‐CHANGの歯切れの良いドラムから始まる、シンプルなバンド編成でのゆったりとしたメロディーの口ずさみたくなるような一曲だ。
