   2D&3DCGを駆使したアクションファンタジーアニメーション。企画制作を、『青の六号』のGONZOが担当しており、その技術、迫力の高さは保証付き。
   敵国デュシスと戦争状態にある国アナトレーに住み、小型飛行艇ヴァンシップを繰って空の配達人をしているクラウス・ヴァルカ。しかし、ある日、アルヴィスという少女を空中戦艦に送る仕事を引き受けたことから、クラウスたちははるか上空で繰り広げられる戦争に巻き込まれていく。
   「審判」が登場するなど、ここでの戦争はルールに則ったものという設定がおもしろい。当然ながら発生する「（戦争の）ルール違反」により、戦いが激化していくなか、クラウスをはじめとする若者たちの成長する過程が描かれる。（田中 元）

一番最初にラストエグザイルの映像に出逢ったときの衝撃は忘れない。
第１巻のクオリティの高さは、今見てもため息ものだ。

第５巻では、そのクオリティが落ちてきている。
「ラヴィやタチアナやディーオやルシオラや…、
　一番最初に出てきた時と、顔変わってない？
　なんか、可愛げが無いゾ。キャラクターの動きもぎこちないし…」

話の展開やキャラクターの個性についてはとても良いと思うのだが、
この作品が開始された頃ににじみ出ていた映像に対するこだわりとか、
情熱が薄らいで見えるのは私だけだろうか？

「ラストエグザイル」という作品にはとても期待している。
今回の映像に関しては期待が外れた。次回に期待。

ヴァンシップが空を飛んでいるシーンは何度見ても面白く、まるで自分も飛んでいるような気分になります。
最初は主人公のクラウスよりもその幼なじみのラヴィに感情移入すると思います。物語が進むごとに少しづつ見えて来る「エグザイル」や「ギルド」などの設定も面白く、とても魅力的です。
一度は見て欲しい作品です。

この作品はなんと言っても見ていて気持ちいいです。
クオリティーも高いですし、一度は見る価値ありです。
