   世界的に有名な日本工業デザインの第一人者、柳宗理が作ったステンレス片手鍋。シンプルなデザイン、使いやすく機能的で丈夫な柳宗理の鍋はとても人気がある。大きく張り出した独特のデザインの注ぎ口が左右両方にあり、中身を器にそそぐとき1滴もこぼれない。右利き左利きを問わず料理を器に移しやすく工夫されている。荷崩れしやすい魚料理やロールキャベツなどに最適。

   専用のフタは回転させると鍋との間にすき間ができるようになっており、簡単に湯切りができる。吹きこぼれや蒸気も、このすき間で簡単に調節できる。ハンドル（柄）は炎との距離を計算した長さで、しっかりと握りやすい。底の厚さは1.1mm。本体は18-8ステンレス製。耐久性にすぐれとても丈夫。清潔で長もちする。本体直径は18cm、容量は満水で2.0リットル。ただし、電磁調理器（IH)には対応していない。(中村真紀子)

２年前の５月に１８ｃｍのお鍋を買いました。液ダレしないとか、湯きりができるとか、素晴らしい点は幾つかあります。でも我が家では出番が少ないのです。つまり欠点も多いのです。我が家では野菜の煮物をよく作ります。醤油や味噌味、トマト煮込みなどの煮物を作っていると鍋肌が焦げてきます。弱火で煮ていても焦げます。あまり美味しくできないし、煮物には向かないと思います。ミルクを沸かすのにとてもよいという方もいらっしゃいますが、チャイの好きな私はこの鍋を使ってはチャイを作りません。やっぱり焦げるからです。焦げたあとの汚れ落しにも手間がかかります。そんなこんなでこの２年間に最も出番の少なかった鍋です。

22cmの鍋を様々な料理に使用しています。
味噌汁、鍋物、シチュー、おでん、煮物、雑煮、野菜やそばやパスタをゆでる等々。

このシリーズの良い点は、つるんとした曲線の美しいデザインです。
はっきり言って、私はこのモダンなデザインが気に入って購入しました。
もちろん、アルミ鍋よりも厚みがあるので高級感があります。（その分重いですけど）
それと、ステンレスなら環境ホルモンの溶け出しの心配もありません。
また、注ぎ口のデザインは機能的でもあり、
だし汁を別の鍋に移し変えたりするのに、気持ちがいいくらい最後の一滴まできれいに注ぐことができます。
ステンレスの種類は「つや消し」がシックでおすすめです。

難点は、一般的な鍋と比べると深さが浅いことです。
（22cmの鍋はフライパンを深くしたような形にも見えます）
それゆえ汁が吹きこぼれやすく、鍋物やおでんなど具材をたくさん入れるような料理の場合は
一度にたくさんの量は作れません。せいぜい2人、多くても4人分です。
それと、底のほうにたまった食材が焦げ付きやすいので注意が必要です。
（例：麺類に落とした生卵、雑煮の餅、おでんのちくわぶ等）

造形はさすがに一流のデザイナーの仕事だなあと感じるけれど、その先、日用の品としての使い勝手に問題点がある。もちろん素晴らしい点はたくさんあるし、おそらくそれらは他の方がレビューされると思うので今回は書かないけれど、とにかく汚れが落ちにくい。こんなに汚れが落ちない鍋も珍しい。もし購入を考えていらっしゃるなら、その点は十分に覚悟してほうがいい。
