   同人ゲームとして異例の大ヒットを記録した作品を原作に製作されたTVアニメーション作品。幼い頃、大事故にあいながらも奇跡的に一命を取り留めた少年・遠野志貴。それをきっかけにして、彼には人の目には見えない「モノの壊れやすい線」（＝そこに刃物を通せばどんなモノでも壊すことが出来る線）が見えるようになっていた。事件後、親戚の家に預けられ、線を見えなくする眼鏡をかけることで日常生活を営んできた志貴は、高校生になり、父の死を契機に実家へと戻る。だがその町では連続殺人事件が発生しており、彼はその背後にある吸血鬼の戦いへと巻き込まれていく。日常世界での生活と、非日常の戦いの世界、そして互いの世界で志貴を取り巻く複数の少女たちの狭間で思い悩む少年を描く、青春ホラードラマが展開する。（田中 元）

戦闘シーンの甘さや、ゲームをやっていないとわかりにくい設定などいろいろと穴も多いが、映像作品として、本作は美点にあふれている。

短い言葉とキャラクターの細かい表情、仕草、そして天候や入ってくる光などをうまく使った心情表現は、全体的に丁寧で繊細な雰囲気を醸し出している。
物語も志貴とアルクェイドのラブストーリーとしてはかなりの出来。
（ただ本当によく見ていないと理解できない。これは良い意味で）

あちこち批判が飛んでいるが、個人的な意見を言わせてもらうと、原作とこのアニメ版の最大の共通点は「個人の作風」が良く出ていることだ。
最近はあちこち似たり寄ったりの作品や原作をそのまま映像化しただけの作品（それはそれでおもしろいけど）が連発される中、この「月姫」２作品ほど、己独自のの作風を通しているのは少ない。原作ファンはアニメ独自展開や作風が気に入らなかったようだが、月姫が、奈須きのこ独自の作風をだした力作だったように、本作も原作だけにとらわれない桜美かつし監督と彼のスタッフ達の独自のスタイルが成立している野心作であると思う。

ただ非常に真面目に作ってある本作だが、美少女ゲームであるがゆえに、主人公の周りに集まるのが全て女という不自然な展開だけは考慮に入れなければならない。

後この巻に関しては、明らかな詰め込み感があるので、星３つとさせていただく。

　原作ファンの方々には叩かれまくっていますが、初めて触れたのがアニメである自分としてはなかなかに面白い作品だと思います。
　ようは順番なんですね。僕がこの先原作をプレイしたら、アニメ版の評価が下がるのかもしれませんが、アニメしか見ていない時点では良い作品だと思いました。
　原作が素晴らし過ぎたがために、完璧を求めるファンには受け入れられなかったのでしょう。これから月姫関連のものに触れていこうと思っている方は、原作よりも先にアニメを見てみてはいかがでしょうか？　その上で、ゲームで本来の月姫に触れてみるのも一興かと思われます。

コメディ部分が一切なくて疲れます。何で登場キャラ全員こんなにギスギスしてて暗いの?もう少し、人物の内面を掘り下げて欲しかったです…。
