結論から言えば、非常にできの良いイヤホンです。実売価格以下の価格帯では、最有力候補となり得ます。

音質の方は、低音〜中音に力があり、高音域は比較的おとなしい印象を受けますが、楽器ごとの音色の違いを描き分ける程度には十分に出ているようです。鮮明さや透明感を楽しむタイプというよりは、音楽を大きくとらえて楽しむ傾向です。Pops、Rock、Jazzなども、もちろん楽しめますが、クラシックを聴いても破綻しない良好なバランスです。

ライバル機としてはAKG K14pが考えられますが、K14pが繊細で高音域方向に抜ける音作りなのに対して、MX500の方は中低音の押し出し感が特徴であると言えます。いずれも良い製品ですので、好みで選択することになるでしょう。

中間に簡易ボリュームがありますが、衣服などに引っ掛かりやすく、左右での偏差が小さくないことから、あまり常用するものではないと思われます。バスや電車などに乗っているときに、車内放送を聞くなどのためにミュート替わりとして使うのが良いと感じました。

装着感は、形状が単純な丸形であることと、直径が比較的大きいことから、人によっては上手く固定されなかったり、耳が痛くなったりするかもしれません。また、外周の耳に当たる部分がプラスチックむき出しなので、滑りやすいかもしれません。スポンジが付属しますが、使用すると高域が若干マスクされる上にサイズも一回り大きくなるため、若干の不満が残ります。

ケーブルは安っぽいビニールで、肌触りは良い方ではありません。タッチノイズは、イヤホンとしては標準的な程度であると思われます。

上記の総評として4点としましたが、音質面では十分に推薦に値する製品といえます。

今まで使っていたヘッドフォンがだめになったため買い換えました．音の一つ一つがクリアに聞こえ，前のヘッドフォンがいわゆる「ドンシャリ系」だったせいか，特に中音域の豊かさに驚きました．大げさに言えば世界が変わった感じです．
音がしっかり聞こえるので，長時間聞き続けると疲れるかと思ったのですが，そういったこともなく，インナーイヤー型のヘッドフォンの中ではかなりのレベルだと思います．
ただし，耳に入る部分が大きめなので，耳の小さい人には合わないかもしれません．小さめのサイズがあれば文句なしなのですが．

音質は癖が無く、解像度・抜けがとても良いです。
巷にあふれる５０００円以下のイヤホンは低音に偏っていますが、
このMX500は一線を画します。味付けはほとんどありません。
少しでも音にこだわりを持つ人なら、このような音傾向のイヤホンを求めていたと思います。
マイナス点としてはデザインが冴えないこと、コードがY時であること
意外と早く音質面でへたってくるということでしょうか。

iPod等の付属イヤホンからの買い替えとして第一候補になるイヤホンです。
