   本作『Transatlanticism』の楽曲の充実ぶりは『We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes』に匹敵し、アルバムとしての仕上がりは『The Photo Album』の発展形と言えそうな高い完成度を示している。デス・キャブ・フォー・キューティーの現時点での最高傑作という声が上がってもおかしくない出来ばえだ。

   あどけない目をしたヴォーカリスト／作詞家であり、ポスタル・サービスの片割れでもあるベン・ギバードは、やはりバンドの看板的存在だ。長距離恋愛の難しさをテーマにした楽曲の数々を歌い上げるベンの声は、いつもどおり奇妙で美しくて力強い。しかし、ギタリスト／プロデューサーのクリス・ウォラもさるもので、自分こそがバンドの秘密兵器であることをまたしても証明している。全編にわたって細やかな音を積み重ねていくクリスの手法は、本作を「ヘッドフォン用アルバム」と呼ぶべきものにしているのだ。

   このシアトルの4人組は、知的で情感豊かなインディー系ギター・ポップを展開してきた数少ないバンドであり、ビル・トゥ・スピルが1990年代半ばのごく一時期にやったことの継承者と言える（ビル・トゥ・スピル自身は、その後、酔っ払いロックという分野に移っていった）。そんなデス・キャブ・フォー・キューティーが、ここに来て急速にリスナー層を広げようとしているようだ。本作を聴く限り、彼らには充分その資格がある。（Mike McGonigal, Amazon.com）

４人編成のバンドでメンバー各自が多くのバンドとの中で活動しているが、ヴォーカリストのベン・ギバードは「ポスタル・サービス」の１人と言うとピンと来る人も多いかもしれない。

癒されたい人にはお勧め。
時間を忘れ日々の嫌な出来事すら忘れて程の安らぎを与えてくれるCDである。 彼らがこれまでに発売されたCDの中でも最高傑作と言っても過言ではない。

NYのライブに行った時に感じたのだが、彼らのメロディーとヒーリング効果でもあるのではないかと思う暖かさのある声、柔らかさの中でしっかりとしたギターの演奏、またMCでの会話も人柄が出ており何１つ欠けても今の彼らはなかっただろうと思う。
主張しすぎないにも関わらず、忘れられないほどずっと耳と心に残り続ける歌ばかりである。

●お勧め●
”The Sound Of Settling”パッパ~♪というキャッチーな歌詞とリズムが体を動かさずにはいられない。
このアルバムが彼らの最高傑作だと思う。

　シアトルはベリンガム出身の4ピースバンドの4th album。
　barsuk records32枚目のリリースにしてアルバムとしてはbarsukからのリリースはこれが最後。

　今までどおりギタポをやりつつも泣きメロ曲中心の一枚。
　いつもどおりシンプルな構成でそれでいて音がどこまでも深い。そしてこのイノセントな声。

　シンプルな音楽がここまで心を震わせて、音が自分の周りをそっと包み込んでくれるような温いアルバム。もう曲一つ一つが生み出す空気感が凄い。
　寒い日の雨の降る植物でいっぱいの庭が似合う感じかな。

　ジャケはAdde Russellて人によるもの。
　1st、2ndのポップなジャケもよかったけどこの人のアートワークも凄いなぁ。お気に入りはm-2,4,5,6,7,8,11。

時にキュートで、時にスイート。

せつなくて、癒される、
叙情性ゆたかなサウンドと
素敵なメロディがいっぱい詰まった
彼らの最高傑作と思います。
