   元シュラプネル系のフュージョン・ギタリスト、グレッグ・ハウを 中心に、ベースのヴィクター・ウッテン＆ドラムスのデニス・チェンバースが参集したスペシャ ル・プロジェクトによる作品。この顔ぶれを見て、2001年に発売された櫻井哲夫の『ジェントル・ハーツ』を思い出す人もいるだろう。あのアルバムの櫻井がヴィクターに代わると本作のメンバーになるからだ。それはともかく、テクニシャ ンぞろいのバンドとあって各人のソロは強力。泣かせどころも心得ていて、この種のヘヴィ・フ ュージョン好きにはこたえられない作品だろう。ハウはギターのほか、ギター・シンセとキーボ ードも担当。また一部の曲にはアディショナル・キーボード奏者としてデイヴ・クックが参加し ている。

   超絶技巧を繰り広げるだけでなく、ちゃんと3人が音楽的な会話を交わしているところがいい。ファンキー＆グルーヴィーな演奏が中心。アラン・ホールズワースが参加して いたトニー・ウィリアムス＆ニュー・ライフタイムのレパートリー「プロト・コスモス」を取り 上げているのも興味深い。（市川正二）

グレート！　ワンダフル！！　エクセレント！！！　ファンタスティック！！！！！！

いや・・・どんな褒め言葉も霞んでしまうくらいにこのアルバムは凄いです。
９３年発表の「Introspection」を彷彿させる内容で、グレッグのフレキシブルなギターが冴え渡っています。　
ノージャンルに音楽が好きなら、是非チェックして頂きたい作品です。

超絶ミュージシャン達が作り出す緊張感がたまらないアルバム。超絶と言っても、聞き疲れするようなテク見せびらかしの弾きまくりと言った趣きでは無く、ギター・ベース・ドラムスの絡み合う高度なテクでの余裕ある音作りになっています。決してハードだけでなく、アコースティックなナンバーや構成にも起伏があり、単調な仕上がりになっていません。グレッグ・ハウのカッティングはカッコイイ。ウッテンのスラップベースも健在。キーボードの使い方もイイ。聞けば聞くほど、緻密な音作りの中に発見があるアルバム。文句なしのおすすめです。

グレッグハウ、ヴィクターウッテン、デニスチェンバースというハイテクトリオによるアルバムです。この手のメンツが揃うと、テンションの高いインストバトルになることも多いのですが、リラックスしたムードで作られており、ヘヴィなナンバーももちろんあるのですが、ジャジーなもの、メランコリックなもの等々、バラエティに富んだフュージョンアルバムになっています。現代最高のギタリストの１人であるハウの流れるようなギタープレイももちろんいいのですが、ウッテン、チェンバースの聴かせ所も、沢山用意してあり、ハイクオリティなサウンドに仕上がっています。
ギタリストファン、ハイクオリティなフュージョンファンにお奨めのアルバムです。
