Visioは他のOffice製品と比較して値段が高い。しかし最近はVisioでネットワーク図やフローを描く人が増えてきて、Visioを持っていないと見ることすらできないのが実情である。それだけ使い勝手が良いということが言えるだろう。

一応Visio ViewerなるものをMicrosoftは無償で提供してくれてはいるが、Internet Explorerで見ることになり、非常に見にくい、かつ印刷にも困る。結局、Visioを持つことが解決策となってしまう。それほどに普及していることを考えると、値段を下げてくれてもよいのでは？

「建築設計の知識もなければＣＡＤも操作出来ないけれど,オフィスのレイアウト図を作成しなければいけない」とか,「作業手順が変わるのでフロー図で説明したいが作図が面倒」という経験は誰でもあるはず。そんなニーズに応えるのがVisioである。オフィスレイアウト図や,ネットワーク図・機器構成図などのシステム関連図面,ワークフロー図などが視覚的で簡単な操作で出来る上に,ＰＣなどのＯＡ機器のイラスト,フロー図で使用される図形などが「ステンシル」という形で実装されており,わかりやすい図面が描けるのが最大の特徴だ。Excelのワークシート同様にWord文書に埋め込むことも可能なので,企画書にフロー図や構成図などを織り込む際にも有用だ。Visio社がMicrosoft社に買収されてから,ステンシルがやたらと３Ｄになったのが少し「ウザイ」気もするが,使い勝手は言うことなし。特にビジネスで業務改善やシステム管理業務にあたる方は,経済産業省のＥＡツールがこのソフトに準拠して作成されているので,必携のソフトウェアである。
　欠点は,やや割高な価格とバージョン間での互換性。Accessなどもそうだがバージョンが異なるとせっかく作成した図面が開かなかったりすることがあるので,複数ユーザー間でドキュメントを共有される際にはバージョンの確認が必要だ。
　初心者でも比較的短時間で容易に使いこなせるようになるので,レイアウト図やフロー図でお悩みの方は是非お試しいただきたい。

4.0 out of 5 stars Ｏｆｆｉｃｅの一環として, 2005/8/12
VisioはCADではない。複雑な図面ではなく、複数シンボルの組合せで構成される図面を描きたい場合などには最適。
VBAなどを使わなくとも実用に耐えるドローイングソフトを自前でカスタマイズ（自社に合った形に）していける事が魅力だ。
その上、マイクロソフト社のExcelなどへのエクスポートが出来るようになるとつくづく、採用して良かったと感じる。
欠点は、ソフトが重く、レスポンスストレスは、PC能力に依存する。
自分には、既存のテンプレートは一切使っていないのでプロは不要だ。
最初は、取っ付き難いが奥の深いソフトがこの値段なら損はない。
