アルバム『はじめてのときめき』が素晴らしく、以来siljeのCDは手に入るものなら買うことにしている。そして、とうとう外国語がまったくダメなのに、洋CDを買ってしまった。

『Nightwatch』は、落ちついた感じの哀愁あるアルバムとなっている。メロディーは夕方、またはそれ以降を感じさせるもので統一されている（タイトルが『Nightwatch』なのだから当然なんだろうけど）。siljeの甘い歌声には、こういった切ない歌がよく似合っている。
夜、一人で恋人のことを想っている時なんかに聞くと、良いですね。

前アルバム『はじめてのときめき』は華があり、『Nightwatch』はもう少しクールで大人味といった感じかな。

ノルウェー出身のSilje、その北欧の感じが上手く出ていてとても心地よい。
甘い声だが渋さ、SEXYさ、少女のような幼さがあり、歌いまわしやピッチも良く聴く側を引き込ませる。
作曲のセンスも素晴らしくジャズとポップスが程よく融合されていて落ち着いた大人の雰囲気を醸し出している。
自信を持ってお勧め出来るお洒落なアルバムです。

セリアを知ったのは、数年前。今はもうないラジオのジャズ番組でした。乾いた歌声の他の女性歌手に混じって、露骨でウェットな感情表現が妙に新鮮でした。彼女はジャズ歌手らしからぬ、エモーショナルな歌い方をします。例えて言えば、トーチソングを歌う時のリッキー・リー・ジョーンズ。歌唱力で聴かせるタイプではなく、表現力で惹き付けるタイプ。所謂ロリータ・ヴォイスですが、同性が聴いても嫌みでなく、可愛らしいと思います。そして、曲の作りもとっても良いです。(1)なんて、恋人と流星群を間近に眺めているような高揚感と屈託ある切ない想いに溢れていて、恋愛映画にでも使われたらヒットしてしまいそうなポップさです。この一曲だけでも、皆さんに聴いて貰いたくなっちゃいます。アルバム全体を通しての印象は、ジャジーな女性シンガーソングライターの好作品と言った雰囲気でしょうか?
ノラ・ジョーンズやマデリン・ペルーなど、カテゴライズしにくい越境型の歌手が好きな向きにも、まずお勧めです。ところで私は輸入盤を購入しましたが、「来日記念」で遅れて発売されたこの国内版には、残念ながら歌詞対訳が付いていません。よって、買うなら安い輸入盤を是非。
