   映画『The Lizzie McGuire Movie』ではポップ・スターに間違われるティーンエイジャーの女の子を演じたヒラリー・ダフ。2002年にクリスマス・アルバム『Santa Claus Lane』をリリースし、さらに前記の映画のサウンドトラック・アルバムでは2曲を歌ったところから見ると、どうやら彼女は本気で音楽に取り組んでいるらしい。ここでひとつだけ問題なのは、ダフの歌を聴いても本気で歌っているようには思えないことだ。しかし、この1stアルバム『Metamorphosis』での彼女は例外だ。ダフの歌声には、彼女がテレビや映画で演じるキャラクターと同様のカマトトぶった媚びがある。本作収録の13曲でも、ダフはおおむねいつもの調子で、愛らしさと自信を感じさせはするものの、ナチュラルな歌唱力にはとぼしい。だが幸いなことに、一流プロデューサーをズラリとそろえたお陰で、この女優の欠点だらけのヴォーカルがどうにか聴けるものになっているのだ。プロデューサーたちは、可能な箇所では必ずといっていいほどヴォーカルを2重録音している。その結果、多くのトラックがチアリーダー隊の応援歌を思わせるものになった。

   本作のベスト・ソングは、アヴリル・ラヴィーンのヒット・アルバム『Let Go』も手がけたプロデューサー・チーム、ザ・マトリックスによる3曲だろう。ザ・マトリックスはダフの柔らかな声にある種の姿勢と力強さを与えている。聴く者をとりこにする、おてんばで華やかな「So Yesterday」や、周到に考え抜かれ、ヘヴィ・メタル風のギター・リフがあしらわれた「Math」がその好例だ。ただしダフは、ブリトニー・スピアーズに代表される「イケてる娘」の系譜には入らない。すでに16歳の彼女だが、セクシーなビュスチエよりバービー人形のほうがずっと似合っている。（Jaan Uhelszki, Amazon.com）

お気に入りアーティストの中に１人でも上記が入っている方、買って損はありません。
曲のノリは、上記と同系統だと思います。
その上、ヒラリーのフォト・ブックまで付いています。

「ブリトニー２世」との呼び声が高く、必ずや音楽界のトップに上り詰めるに違いありません。（既にトップになってるか・・・）
そんなヒラリーのデビューアルバム、今買わなかったら流行に乗り遅れますよ。

ただし、ＣＣＣＤというのが嫌ですね。
音質劣化へと導くだけに、なんとかして欲しい。
洋楽までＣＣＣＤにするなや！！！

前々からブリトニーの後輩ってことで興味を持っていたんですが、ちょっと子供っぽいところがあり、聞きづらくはないんですけど、微妙っていう曲が何曲かありました。
ただso yesterdayとwhere did i go right?は大変良かったです。

ヒラリーの曲は、聴く回数によって味わいが出てくると思います。
確かに、ブリちゃんと比べると劣る部分もあると思いますが、
彼女のかわいさはとっても魅力的です。

何回も聴いてると、ヒラリーの曲の良さがわかってきました。
お薦めは、“sweet sixteen”と“why not”です。

買って損はないと思いますよ。ぜひ、お試しあれ☆
