   中世日本の戦国時代を舞台にした、3Dアクションゲーム、プレイヤーは主人公シナトとなり、悪の権化であるモンカンを倒すのが目的になる。Microsoft Game Studiosの日本チームが日本向けに制作した初のタイトルでもある。

   　爽快感と迫力のある二刀流剣げきアクションが楽しめるのがこの作品のポイントで、3Dのフィールド上を武器であるオロチを駆使し、次々と現れる敵を斬りつけ、倒してゆく。シンプルな操作ながら奥の深いアクションが楽しめるようになっているのがその特徴だ。

   　舞台となるのがヤマトとバクフの争いが起き、乱れ、人々が不安に満ちていた時代。バクフの将軍アシカガは、ヤマトの背後に暗躍するモンカンのクーデターを鎮圧するため行動を開始するも、モンカンもバクフに対抗する軍事力として山の民ミカヅチと手を組み、妖怪たちを自らの手勢として率い、すでに京を占領しその手におさめようとしていた。

   　この事態を収めるべく立ち上がったのが、異形から現世に表れたものを退治するのが役目のイズモ。神殺師であるシナトもモンカンを討ち滅ぼすべく京に派遣されるが、強大な力の前に為す術もなく力尽きようとする。間一髪バクフの波乱であるクレハに助けられも、魔都と化した京をあとにすることになる。そしてその後、シナトにはイズモに封印されていた強大な力、オロチが与えられる。

   　モンカンを打ち倒すべく立ち上がったシナト。そんなシナトを助けようとするクレハ。そして、人間同士の戦いで呼び覚まされた太古の力、オロチ……。こうして歴史には刻まれないもうひとつの戦いが始まる。（田村 雅）

前半は爽快感も有り楽しく遊べるのですが、中盤から難易度が跳ね上がります。そして後半は再チャレンジをする気も起こらない激ムズ難易度です。ボス戦は大迫力で自分なりの攻略法を模索しながらアクションの醍醐味を味わえます・・・が、ここに至るまでの道のりが大変です。登場キャラクターも魅力的な容姿をしているのですが、ゲームに生かし切れていません。唯一敵方キャラのクスノキがゲームに存在感を残しています。丁寧に作られてるのですがゲームバランスなどは練りこみ不足だというのが素直な感想です。NINJA GAIDENを楽々クリアできる方以外は手を出さないほうが無難だと思います。

かなりいい感じなのではないか。まだ序盤なのでこの先わからないが、操作性もいいし、システムも良いと思います。斬撃とオロチとの連携攻撃もなかなか良いし、グラフィックもとても綺麗だ。スタンダード的な佳作だろう。だがやはり、三国無双な感はあるが。。。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　紅の海を買ってからはっきりいってXboxは諦めていたけど（笑）これは買ってよかったと思う。

まず、グラフィックは普通。
前半は側転、バク転の操作に熟れないとライトユーザーにはムズい。
シナトの剣攻撃がガードされてバッサリの爽快感が無い。
後半はヘビーなゲーマーでもしんどいです。
下手に手を出すと挫折します。
ストーリーと出て来るキャラは良いですが。
