 『17歳のカルテ』などを手がけたジェームズ・マンゴールド監督による、サイコ・ミステリー。メインとなるシチュエーションはこの手のジャンルとしては定番だが、降り続く雨や光量の少ないモーテルの部屋が演出する「閉塞した悪夢」が秀逸で、観客の不安感をかきたてる。前半はホラー色の濃い展開で目を釘付けにしながら、後半にさしかかると「エッ！そんなのアリ？」というまさかの謎解きを用意。脚本の勝利だ。ジョン・キューザック、レイ・リオッタなどの芸達者が、それに応える形で密度の濃い熱演を見せている。（安川正吾）

久々観ましたこんなおもしろいストーリー！表紙や始まりがあんまりに３流映画に見えたのだが中盤あたりの展開がそれを一掃してくれる！ラストまで楽しめます。違う糸をたどれば一つの答えに。。。とはこういう時に使うのね！

とにかく何の先入観も持たずに観ることですね。
「アッ！」と驚く展開には惚れ惚れします。
２回目観てるときに「ハーン、なるほどな」と思う
シーンが何箇所かありますね。オススメです！

余り詳しくは書けませんが
その柔軟な発想の脚本に感服!!
テレビの２時間サスペンスを見る暇があるのなら
この作品を観るべき!!
衝撃度は｢セブン｣｢ユージュアルサスペクツ｣に並ぶと
思います。サスペンス好きな方はとにもかくにも必見!!
