「審判」が登場するなど、ここでの戦争はルールに則ったものという設定がおもしろい。当然ながら発生する「（戦争の）ルール違反」により、戦いが激化していくなか、クラウスをはじめとする若者たちの成長する過程が描かれる。（田中 元）
