半野氏は、普通、音響派とかエレクトロニカとかにくくられることが多いのですが、もともと、半野氏の音楽の特長としては、そのビット単位で研ぎ澄まされた、官能的なサンプリング・サウンドだけでなく、まるで新ウィーン楽派を思わせるような、独特の和声の美しさがあったのでした。

したがって、その彼が唄モノを手がければ、どんな美しい音楽が生まれるかは、想像がつくといえばついたはずなのですが、それにしても、これは想像を超えて美しい作品でした。

そのトラックの多くは、その独特のギクシャクしたグリッチ・ノイズによるリズムさえなければ、ジャズやボサノバのスタンダードと見まがうような雰囲気さえあるのですが、その独特の和声やノイズのため、やはりこれらのジャンルとは一線を画す、!半野サウンドとしか言いようのない音に仕上がっています。

本作は、「永遠の仔」や「詩人の肖像」が好きな人は、もちろん文句なく「買い」でしょうが、それだけでなく、もっと幅広い音楽ファンに聴いてもらいたい作品です。

　電子音やノイズによる音響実験作、いくつかの映画音楽、ＴＶドラマのサウンド・トラックを経て到達した半野喜弘の最高傑作。
　アコースティック楽器主体の室内楽的アンサンブルに、さりげなくまぶされた電子音、スポークン・ワードに女性ヴォーカルが、この上もなく美しい音響空間を作り出している。

　エポックは現代音楽畑で活躍するという女性シンガー、ジョーン・ラ・バルバラのヴォーカルだろう。３曲に参加しているが、この昼下がりの白昼夢の如き儚く美しい作品に、肉感的な魅力を寄与することに成功している。他にはＡ．リンゼイのヴォーカルにギター、ショーロ・クラブの笹子重治のアコースティック・ギターが印象に残る。

　あくまで個人的な感懐だが、邦人エレクトロカ作品としてはコンボ・ピアノの『テトラスクロール』、レイ・ハラカミの『レッド・カーヴ』以来の繰り返し聞き返したくなる傑作だと思う。

悲しいかな長時間聴くに耐えない。
