雑そうにみえる、いいかげんそうにみえる。見えるだけである。この男なかなか頭を使ってやっている感じがプンプンする。ライブの構成から始まりの曲から終わりの曲上手くまとめる。このＣＤの最後もカスタムで締めてる抜群だ。ソロになって親父くさくなったけど、それがいい。昔のは作り過ぎで好きじゃなかった。だけどホントここ数年めちゃめちゃつぼにはまる男になってしまった。それにライブアルバムを聴くのは初めてだがライブもかっこいいじゃないか。豪華に２枚組み、ほぼ年代順に聞かせてくれるので、その変化も聞ける。間違いなくよくなって行ってる。これは今後の奥田民生も期待できてしまういいものです。

「奥田民生のライヴ盤が出る」と聞いた時からずっと楽しみにしていましたが、やはり期待を裏切らない、嬉しい２枚組になっています。一般にはある種の「だらだら感」がイメージ付けされている奥田民生の、ロックンローラーとしてのかっこよさ、男としてのやさしさ、そういったファンなら誰でも感じている（と思う）奥田民生の魅力がこの２枚に詰まっています。ヒットしたシングル曲だけしか知らない人にもぜひ聞いて感動してほしいですね。

個人的には、"The Standard"を聴いて（自分が久しぶりにこの曲を聞いたのもありますが）すごく心がジーンとなってしまいました。イージュー★ライダーはいつ聴いてもカッコいいですね。Puffyの「海へと」のセルフカヴァーも必聴です。

ソロデビューが1994年だからもう9年、いつになったら奥田さんのライウがでるのだろうと首を長くしていたファンの皆さん長い間お待たせしました。それこそ奥田さんの歌のタイトルのように「まんをじして」の登場です。デビューから今までの多数のライブ音源の中から選びに選び抜かれたまさにベストライブトラックからの収録になるそうです。もちろん一枚では収まりきれないから2枚組。そして収録予定曲を聞いてまたまた狂喜乱舞！
「愛のために」「恋のかけら」「イージューライダー」「息子」「さすらい」「マシマロ」などなど奥田さんの代表曲・シングル曲の多くが収録されるとのこと。まさに絶対必聴の必聴アイテムになること間違いなしです！

　奥田さんのライブは、以前から定評のあるとおりで時には!熱く、時にはけだるく（良い意味で）、様々な表情を見せてくれます。

　ライブには、シンガーのその日の気持ちや観客との鼓弓まで感じさせてくれるのが、ライブの魅力でしょう。また原曲とはちがった編曲やアプローチやバックのテクニックも大きく影響してきます。こだわりの奥田さんの9年間のライブの集大成ですから、その曲、音源は折り紙付きといって過言ではないでしょう。またライブは編集がどのようにされているかも楽しみの一つ。「まんをじして」発売をまちたいと思います。
