ミナスのギターリスト、トニーニョ・オルタの２００４年の新作"Com O Pe No Forro"は、ブラジル北東部の民衆の音楽「フォホー」にとりくんだ素晴らしいアルバムでしたが、とりわけゲストで参加していたドミンギーニョスのアコーディオンの響きや歌声をそこで初めて聴き、その人間性がにじみ出たかのような暖かいサウンドが本当に好きになってしまい、本盤を購入しました。ここにはフィリップス時代（1975-79)の５枚のアルバムから選ばれた曲が収められています。
太鼓、トライアングル、アコーディオンというシンプルな構成が基本のフォホーですが、ドミンギーニョスはさらに女声コーラスやギター、キーボード、ホーンセクションなどでハーモニーの厚みを増したり、ベ-スやドラムを加えてリズム面をさらに強化するなどポップな感覚を加味し、現代的な音楽に仕立てています。何曲かでトニーニョ・オルタのギターやあのジャクソン・ド・パンデイロも登場。
同時にリリースされたもう一枚のベスト「RCAイヤーズ」と合わせて是非。
