15年近く前に秋葉原で、CDプレーヤーの視聴をしているときに、たまたまこのアルバムのサイドワインダーを聴いて、CDプレーヤーは買わずにCDを買ってしまいました。
新しい時代のジャズ・フュージョンプレーヤーが、古いスタイルの曲を新しいスタイルのプレーで作りあげていきます。
メンバー全員がGRPのスター級のプレーヤーだけあって、一曲一曲の押しが強いのですが、特にその中でもマンテカの押しは素晴らしい。
何度聴いても、サビに戻る直前のリフには惹き込まれます。
ワンテイクもの特有の不安定さもほとんど見られず、只ひとつ残念なのがアルバムの構成で、曲の並び次第では☆5つだと思います。

とにかくメンバーが凄いんです。自分も発売された当時、即購入しました。
全曲一発録音、収録スタジオにて同時に録画されたビデオも発売されました。その後にメンバーの来日も実現。ライブ盤も発売されてます。ジャズ、フュージョンの好きな人ならきっと満足する作品です。
