同じConstellationのGodspeed You Black Emperorが、ラディカルな政治性を伴う、イデオロギーに満ち満ちた、陰であり負であるポストロックとすれば、Do Make Say Thinkは、イデオロギー抜きに、もっと純音楽的な実験を楽しめる、陽であり正であるポストロックであると、おおまかな分類ではあるが、言える。
Sonnaなんかも、Do Make Say Thinkと同様に、後者に位置付けられるバンドだが、殊にインスト・ポストロックとしても面白さとなると、Do Make Say Thinkの方が、キャリアもあるし、一日の長がある。
この新作では、相変わらず、聴いていると楽しくなってしまいそうな、しかしなおかつその緩急が絶妙な展開力に感嘆するしかないサウンドを展開している。 Godspeed You Black Emperor的な大曲がある訳でなく、コンパクトな曲の連続だが、それぞれはシームレスに連結されており、アルバムトータルではじめて意味を成すような、壮大な物語を描き出している。
特筆すべきは、ラスト曲であり、これは、アルバム全体を最初から聴き、最後に辿り付いてこそ、はじめてフルにカタルシスを味わえる、圧倒的なまでの賛歌となっている。 この肯定感は、ポストロックにおける"I Am The Resurrection"だ！と宣言してしまいたくなる、前代未聞な解放感に溢れている。
断言するには早いが、この作品こそ、今年のポストロックを代表する作品であるだろうし、ポストロック史においても、重要なポジションを占める、大傑作だ。
これだけは、聴いておこう。

骨太生粋“PUNK”エリート軍団、Constellationから２００３年秋に世界へと発信された、Do Make Say Thinkによる音の彫刻。

今作で早くも４作目となり、デビュー作より完成していた音遊びはいよいよ研ぎ澄まされ、独特の緊張感のなかで幾重にも押し寄せる音の波に視覚的、聴覚的快感を覚える。曲調も音の質感も１、２作目というよりは基本的に３作目の延長線上にある今作。個人的に、全体的に何か物足りなさを感じた前作よりすべてにおいて遥かに上回っていると思う。バンド演奏を基調とした、決して作り過ぎない手法も相変わらずグッドだ。

ただ、心のどこかで３作目以前に感じられた荒さを欲してしまうのは私だけだろうか。以前より音が美しくなり過ぎた気がしてしまう。録音機材の変化によるところが大きいのだろうが、今回はいつも以上にアルバムを通して楽曲全体の完成度が高いので余計に気になってしまう。決して今作が駄作などと言うつもりは無い。むしろ明らかに前に進んでいると思う。しかし、私にはロックはもう少し生意気で、もうちょっとだらしない位が丁度いいのだ。

Mogwai, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, boards of canada, godspeed you! black emperor等を聴く人達にとってはストライクゾーンの真ん中近くだろう。

ポストロック勢の中で最も無邪気な曲構成を作るバンド。
mogwai的な轟音、いやそれ以上の轟音が新しいアプローチで局所局所に取り組まれている。
それがなんとも無邪気な感じで、、、
べたべたな芸術的postrockもいいが、面白みが欲しいならコレ。
そうきたか！！というアイデアが満載
お勧めは６曲目　９曲目
