「１３日の金曜日」をはじめとするスラッシャーホラーの元祖となる作品でジョン・カーペンターの名を一躍有名にしたホラーの古典であるが、今見ると非常に上品である。
怖くないわけではないがショッキングさは公開当時はともかく今となっては非常に薄く、なにかもっと衝撃的なシーンがあるのではないかと期待していると何時の間にか終わっている。
どうしても物足りなさが残るのはその後のエグいスプラッター映画を見なれてしまったせいか？
ただ低予算にもかかわらずしっかり作られている点、殺人鬼マイケル・マイヤーズの不気味さ、そして印象深い音楽など見るべき点はある。
マイケル・マイヤーズを追うルーミス教授を演じるドナルド・プレザンスの存在感はさすが。
品のいいクラシックホラーとして鑑賞すべき。

公開から２５年経ってもカーペンターの代表作と言ってもいいぐらいの作品です　最近のホラー映画にない殺人者マイケルの静かな不気味さと耳に残るあの音楽とが実にマッチしていて派手ではないけどジワジワと恐怖心が迫ってきます

今やこの映画も古典ですね。「１３日の金曜日」なんか見慣れた人から
すると、少し物足りないかもしれないですが、そこがこの映画の特徴。
淡久とした静かな映像とマイケルの不気味なキャラクター、そしてカーペンター作曲の音楽が絶妙にマッチして、最近のホラー映画にはあまりない、クラシカルで不気味な独特の雰囲気を醸し出しています。
もうすぐハロウィン。ハロウィンの夜は、みんなで「ハロウィン」を観ましょう。値段もそこそこですしね。
