トニーニョ・オルタがブラジル北東部の民衆の音楽「フォホー」にとりくんだ素晴らしいアルバム"Com O Pe No Forro"にゲストで参加していたドミンギーニョスをそこで初めて聴き、その人間性がにじみ出たかのような暖かいアコーディオンの響きや歌声が本当に好きになってしまい、本盤を購入しました。ここには彼のRCA時代（1980-85)の７枚のアルバムから選ばれた曲が収められています。
太鼓、トライアングル、アコーディオンというシンプルな構成が基本のフォホーですが、ドミンギーニョスはさらに女声コーラスを付け加えたり、ベ-スやドラムを加えてリズム面をさらに強化するなどポップな感覚を加味し、現代的な音楽に仕立てています。
驚くほど多様で軽快なリズムに、颯爽と駆け抜けていくアコーディオンの響きが何とも気持ちよく、かつ音楽的な面白みも満載。ハッピーな気持ちになれること請け合いです。
同時にリリースされたもう一枚のベスト「フィリップス・イヤーズ」と合わせて是非。
