ホロヴィッツのショパンは、どの曲も魂に突き刺さるような鋭い感性と閃きに満ちていて、聴いている側の感情までもが激しく揺さぶられる音の連続です。全曲通して聴いてみての感想は、”狂気のショパン”。まるで天使と悪魔が入り乱れているかのような凄まじさ。詩情のアシュケナージ、情熱のアルゲリッチ、機械仕掛けのようなポリーニ等、ショパンの演奏にも様々なものがありますが、魂をかき乱されるようなショパンを聴きたい時には、やはりホロヴィッツだと思います。

これは非常にお買い得なCD集だ。３枚セットでこの価格。
これからホロヴィッツを聴こうとする人にはとてもお勧め。
演奏はベスト盤だけあって、RCAの数ある録音の中から優れた演奏をチョイスしている感じがする。（製作側の好みからだが・・・）

ただ、RCAのCDをすでに数枚所有している方には要注意！
ほとんど曲がダブってしまう。

個人的には幻想ポロネーズ、バラード４番等が違った演奏で手に入ったのが嬉しいが、収録されている作品のほとんどは過去に他のCDに収録された演奏。

私は、違った録音の演奏を数曲だが手に入れたので価格的に考えても満足している。
このあたりは個人個人感覚が違うので、よく迷ってから？購入してもらいたい。

ホロヴィッツ全盛期のショパン演奏を網羅した画期的なＣＤです。

ホロヴィッツの多様なレパートリーの中でもショパンは最も重要なものの一つです。
晩年は一部の感動的な演奏を除いて「ひびわれた骨董品」になり果ててしまったホロヴィッツのショパンですが、
その全盛期には並はずれた集中力によって圧倒的な説得力をもった演奏を繰り広げていたのでした。

このＣＤでは、この上なく素晴らしい全盛期のショパン演奏をまとめて聴くことができます。
英雄ポロネーズやバラードでは目の回るような超絶技巧に圧倒されるでしょうし、
マズルカでは繊細でロマンティックなホロヴィッツのもう一つの側面に出会うことができるでしょう。
ホロヴィッツとショパン、そしてホロヴィッツのショパンを存分に味わうことのできるＣＤです。

尚、多くの人が指摘していることですが、
すでに流通されているホロヴィッツのＣＤと被っている曲がほとんどですので、注意が必要です。
