Telstarというインスト曲だけを集めた珍CD。オリジナルはトーネイドーズというグループで、1962年アメリカの通信衛星の打ち上げ成功を記念して制作されたシングルだそうです。曲は疾走感のあるスペース・ウェスタンという感じでトーネイドーズを始め、スプートニクス、ベンチャーズ、寺内タケシなどそれぞれのバージョンが22曲も収録されている。
モズライトやフェンダーのリバーブギターにオルガン。基本的には各グループこのフォーマットなのだが、それぞれに味があり全然飽きさせない。これだけいろいろなグループに演奏され１枚のCDになってしまうのは、この曲がとてもカッコいいからでしょう。
このCDには入っていないが、ルースターズが2ndでカバーしているバージョンが一番カッコよいかも。
