イタリアのビル・エヴァンスとも称されるエンリコ・ピエラヌンツィの国内物の再発盤。
1997年3月 NYで録音。Enrico Pieranunzi(p), Marc Johnson(b), Joey Baron(ds).

冒頭曲 "Thiaki" を聴いてほしい。

クラシカルな左手のアルペジオ、バロック風の装飾音を多用したメロディライン。飛び交う蛍のようなピアノの音の、なんと浪漫的なことか。めまいを催すような、めくるめく音の宴。今までになかったジャズピアノの表現に違いない。2曲目や5曲目も同様の表現であり、これはピエラヌンツィ得意のパターンと言ってもいい。ピアノトリオとしてのコンビネーションも最高だ。

このアルバムは国内プロデュース作品ながら、スタンダードナンバーを控えめにしたところも良い。エヴァンス作品 "Very Early" や Lennon/McCartneyの "Fool On The Hill"（これはソロ）も面白いが、なんといってもピエラヌンツィの魅力はその華麗なオリジナル曲にある。とりわけアルバム前半は、これでどうだと言わんばかりの美しい曲が並んでいる。

後期エヴァンス・ファンにもオススメしたい一枚。

　名盤 Bud Powell「The Scene Changes」から趣き深い Al Haig「Invitation」元気な Chick Corea Acoustic Band「Alive」まで、とにかく1曲目が強烈に素晴らしくCDをかけたとたんに「これ良いね~」と反応が返ってくるピアノトリオ・アルバムの、これもそんな1枚。
　流れるようなアルペジオと明るい下向旋律で始まる[1]は、ピアノならではの魅力を最大限引き出して度肝を抜くほどの美しさ。あとはもう[10]の耳に馴染んだ旋律でハッと我に返るまで夢心地でアルバムを聴き進む。ヨーロッパらしい音楽性がドラマチックに反映された97年ピアノトリオ。印象的なジャケットも音楽に華を添える。

CDショップで流れているのを聞いて衝動買いしてしまいました。
このとき初めてエンリコ・ピエラヌンツィ・トリオを知りました。
きらめくピアノの旋律に魅了されます。
クールな響きがかっこいいです。
彼女、彼氏へのプレゼントに最高。
