   ジャケットの写真では高木綾子は瞳を閉じている。自身の内側に意識を集中させたいという気持ちの表れだろうか？ このアルバムで彼女は、従来のダイナミックな表現力、線の太さ、きらびやかな音色に加え、どこか落ち着いたたたずまいを見せるようになった。細かい音の動きで眩惑することよりも、結局はシンプルな音ひとつで、いかに人を魅了することができるかこそが、管楽器の真髄だろう。今回、高木綾子はそうした管楽器の原点に戻り、ストレートな祈りの気持ちを込めた1枚をつくりあげた。

   冒頭のカザルスの名曲「鳥の歌」と、最後の村松崇継の「EARTH」（委嘱新作）が、地球の平和への思いを込めたメッセージ曲として、鋭い対照をなしている。「EARTH」は心にすんなり入り込んでくるメロディが心地よい佳作で、「この地球に生まれて」というメッセージを思わせる。アンコールピースにも似合うし、歌詞をつけて歌えそうな親しみやすいメロディが魅力的だ。

 「鳥の歌」からドップラー「ハンガリー田園幻想曲」への静かな流れ、そしてバルトークの「ハンガリー農民組曲」、1曲おいてボルヌの「カルメン幻想曲」という配列はエキゾティックな“旅”の情緒を意識してのものだろう。「牧神の午後」も薫り高い演奏。音色もテンポも自在な動きを見せる西脇千花のピアノもなかなかの好演である。フルートという楽器を通して高木綾子が込めている思いが伝わってくるアルバムだ。（林田直樹）

高木氏の”EARTH”のイメージ。
”EARTH”は収録曲の最後を飾る曲ですが。
収録曲は民謡、民族風の曲。カルメン幻想曲という女性を題材にした曲など、テーマは”人間”なのだと思う。
一見煌びやかな印象のある楽器ではあるが、
非常に情緒的な人間臭い音楽がこのCDでは展開される。
作者のコンセプトに惹かれると共に、高木氏の奏法技術も圧巻だ。

音がぶっとい！
これは尺八の音だ。
まず出だしの１「鳥の歌」からびっくりする。極めて深みのある内省的な音で奏でられ、とびきり切ない感じがする。２「ハンガリー田園幻想曲」もしかり。６「牧神の午後への前奏曲」なんて、ほとんど瞑想の世界。
とは言え、聴いていて思わず身震いするような箇所も多数あり。

高い音楽性と技術を兼ね備えていることはかねてから承知していたが、ここまでスゴイ演奏をするとは、一体この人は何者？という感じ。
