横シューの金字塔、グラディウスのパロディ版になります。
パロディウスだ！と極上パロディウスのカップリングです。
この作品の初出は1995年ですから、プレステ黎明期の作品なんですね。

”だ！”は1990年作品とのことで、本家にニュアンスが近く
パロディについてはおっかなびっくりという印象を受けます。
一方、”極上~”はパロディという観点でいうとおもしろいフィーチャーが多いですね。
（悪ノリがすごいともいえますが）
特にバキュラのような敵は必見です。弾を当てると256からだんだん数字が減っていくんです。
（吹き出しが出てきて自己申告をするような感じですね。）
これはゼビウスの都市伝説をモチーフにしているのでしょう。
なかなか通好みのフィーチャーです。
また、コラムスやスターフォースをモチーフにしたような箇所も見受けられます。

難易度については、”だ！”は鬼のような難易度です。
すべて初期状態に戻ってしまうのですが、スピードが絶望的に遅く、
体勢を立て直すのはほぼ不可能でしょう。
”極上~”のほうはスピードアップはすぐにできるようになっているものの
それでも難易度は高めです。”だ！”に比べるとやや低いと思いますが。

また、画面全般がパステルカラーや原色を多用しているため、
何がなんだかわからなくなる箇所が多々ありました。
両作ともボス戦の前に1秒弱の読み込みをするため、リズムが狂うのもマイナス。
とはいいつつ、コナミコマンドや無敵コマンド(！)もあるため
とりあえずクリアをするのは簡単に出来ると思います。

さて、今作はライトユーザーの取り込みをも視野に入れた作品であると思います。
今作のアプローチや無敵コマンドの存在がそれを裏付けています。
しかしながら、結果としてファンアイテムになってしまっている感じがしますね。
もう少しパロディ内容と難易度調整を吟味するとかなり化けたかも。

※パロディの質ではSSからリリースされたジャレコの「ゲーム天国」
　もかなりのものです。SSをお持ちの方は探してみてはいかがでしょうか。

ベスト版からの再リリースで更に価格が安くなったのはプレイしていないユーザーにとっては◎！コナミのグラディウスシリーズよりも難易度は優しく、その場で復活できるので友達と一緒に頑張ればクリアも簡単だと思います。細かいグラフィック・有名な音楽をパロったサウンド・今プレイしても衰えていないゲームがここにあります。

今見ると、丁寧に作られており、絵にしても、サウンドにしても。
再び遊んでみたいと思う。
横スクロールのSTGって好きなんですよ。
コミカルなキャラは結構好き。
