   第三次世界大戦後、生き残った人間たちは人類の滅亡を防ぐために、感情を徹底的に抑制した世界を構築。本や美術品、音楽など感情を揺さぶる物は一切禁止、さらに感情を抑える薬の使用を義務づける。それでも出てくる反乱者は、“ガン＝カタ”と呼ばれる戦闘術を習得した“クラリック”によって始末されていた。だがクラリックのプレストンは、ある女性との出会いから感情に目覚め、自分の任務や社会に対して疑問を抱き始める。
 『ガタカ』や『華氏451』系の統制された未来社会のビジュアルも面白いし、ジョン・ウー映画の銃撃戦を発展させた華麗かつ斬新な二丁拳銃技や『座頭市』的日本刀での戦いなど、アクションも見事。良い意味でいろんな映画のイイとこ取りし、それをうまくまとめている。監督のオタク魂にニマニマしちゃう作品だ。（横森 文）

見終わって「ああ、面白かった」と素直に言える作品です
マトリックスを思い出させますが
あちらとは違って、話も単純で理解しやすく
ガン＝カタと呼ばれる新しいガンアクションがとにかく凄い
見ていて気持ちいいです

設定は割りと細かく作られていると思います
感情を抑圧させるための薬、そしてガン＝カタの派手なアクション
拳法の型と銃を組み合わせた大胆でありそうで無かった発想は素敵ですね
一番の見所なアクションシーンはぐいぐいと惹きつけられますがそのアクションが少ないのが残念
ライバルになりそうな男も数秒で殺される噛ませ犬に成り下がったのも残念
ストーリーはとても単純に洗脳国家に反逆するものです
中盤までの主人公の葛藤は分かりやすくていいです
あまり深く考えず楽しむものだと思います

あまり話題にならなかったんだろうと内心悲しく思っていたこの作品。友達に薦めても、実際に観てくれる人もなく、隠れファンの一人を自認していたけれど…このサイトのレビューで絶賛されている方か多くて、すごく嬉しかった。だって本当に面白く、素敵な作品だから。掘り出し物とはこのこと。

一番の魅力はやはりカンフーと銃を合体させた無敵のアクション、ガンカタのかっこよさだろう。その速さと美しさは、華麗なる殺人舞踏を見ているようだ。しかし、この映画の魅力は断じてこれだけではない。
ストーリーは確かに多少無理がなくもないが、余計な枝葉をつけることなく一本筋が通っているので大層わかりやすく、あまり頭を悩ませずに話についていくことができる。それに、主人公や他の登場人物の内面が案外ていねいに描写できているので(役者も演技派を使っている)アクションのないシーンも退屈せずに感情移入しながら観れた。特にクリスチャン・ベールが感情を取り戻していく過程は、彼の内心の葛藤や緊張がよく伝わってきて、はらはらどきどきした。

中盤はアクションシーンがなく、最後の最後に炸裂するのも、物語の構成としては優れていると思う。静謐なシーンと過激なシーンのバランス感覚が秀逸だ。
大作でないがために日の目を見ないのは誠にもったいない素晴らしい映画。決してB級ではないと断言できる。未見の方は、一度観てほしい。
