大体こういう『ＪＡＰＡＮ　ＯＮＬＹ』とかのミニ・アルバムと呼ばれる類のものには、普段は食指が動かないのだが（シングルも買わない質なので）、これはタイトルナンバーがどうしても聞きたかったので、フルアルバムの半分以上の金をはたいて購入してしまった。
タイトルナンバーであるドンルクは文句無しに良い曲であった。言葉に出して言うのは簡単だが、こういう曲にそう出会えるものではない。
だが、ドンルクを超える出来だったのが、デビューアルバムにも収録されていた2とデモながら一度聞いたら忘れられない究極のポップソングの6だった。

それ以外の曲もどれもフルアルバムに入っても遜色ない素晴らしい曲だから、リバティーンズの好きな方は買った方がいいと素直に思った。

リバの最高傑作シングルといえる。
このギターフレーズは本当に才能のあるミュージシャンにしか
思いつけない代物である。かっこよすぎである。
ローゼズのエレファントストーンに匹敵するといってもいい。
これがラストシングルにならないことを切に望みます。

この作品が、ピーター・ドーハティーが参加して、オリジナル４人が揃っていた最後の作品になってしまうのか。そう思って聴くとタイトル曲のコミカルな展開も妙に切なく思えてしまう。

危うげなバランスの上にある緊張感なりたっていたバンドだけに、ピーターの事実上の脱退は大きな痛手。彼抜きのセカンドアルバムに価値があるとは思えない。だから私はこのミニ・アルバムをリバティーンズのラストアルバムだと思っている。
デフレの日本にあってこの価格は牛丼５杯分の価値がある。だけど、このCDは三食抜いても聴く価値あり。
