バリシニコフ演出。あちこちのバリエーションを削って全体の時間を短くし(85分) 、 テンポよくストーリーが進みます。バジルのバリエーションは逆に増えているので、 バリシニコフのファンは楽しめるかもしれません。

元気がないときに観るバレエ作品の一つです。
ABTはパリオペラ座やロシアの諸バレエ団に比べれば、ええ？と思うような「荒さ」を感じる場面もありますが（シンシア・ハーヴェイが登場シーンでグランパディシャの前にちょっと顔を下に向けるのは、彼女の癖でしょうか・・いつもここが気になります）、それをカバーするエネルギーを持っています。またダンサーだけではなく、オーケストラの演奏も実に楽しくて軽快です。第2幕のミーシャのソロの場面のシンコペーション、ミーシャの演技とともにバレエ史上に残る名演だと思います。

バリシニコフのバジルはすごいの一言。
２幕のソロ、３幕のソロ、その他とにかく全部がすごい。
切れがあって、エレガントで華やかです。
３幕の結婚式の踊りはキトリもバジルも衣装が白だったのがめずらしいと思いました。
キトリの衣装は赤＆黒がお決まりかと思っていたので。

白い衣装も、刺繍が金で、胸元のポイント部分と髪飾りの花が赤でなかなか素敵です。
衣装の色が意外でしたが、音楽のほうも、テンポも切れもはんなりしていて優雅でした。
こういう演出もなかなかいいと思いました。
舞台全体は華やかで楽しく最高です。とても楽しめる１枚と思います。

技術はもちろん、とても楽しい作品です。時期を同じくして他バレエ団のドンキDVDも拝見しましたが、こちらのほうが断然良かったです。お勧めします♪
