   2001年9月12日、つまり例のテロ事件の翌日から作りはじめたという作品。エモーショナルなメロディーを歌い上げるスティングの歌声が、あまりにも力強い。久々にスティングの歌を聞いてヤラられた。ただ、だからと言って、感情の赴くままに作り上げた作品かと思いきや、その一方で、ある種の確信の下、ドラムンベース、およびトランスといったクラブ・ミュージックやエスニック・サウンドにもアプローチするなど、サウンド的には緻密に作り上げているようなところが実に興味深い。「ホェンエヴァー・アイ・セイ・ユア・ネーム」はメアリー・J.ブライジとのデュエット。なんとなく、色眼鏡で見られそうな顔合わせだけれど、これが圧巻。本作のハイライトと言ってもいい。うーん、やっぱり、このアルバムではスティングの歌声の力強さを、より多くの人に聞いてほしい。（山口智男）

なんと『ブランド・ニュー・デイ』から約4年待たせてくれました。立て続けに出したり、いろいろなベスト盤を出したりと我々ファンをどぎまぎさせてくれるSTING。先に発売された「センド・ユア・ラブ」は、FMでかなり流されています。英語が苦手な私がSTINGの訳を見ると、いつも「うーん難しい」とうならせてくれます。そんなSTINGの今回のテーマは、「愛」とかなりシンプルなコンセプト。メアリーJブライジやアヌ-シュカ・シャンカールといったミュージシャンとジョイントするなど、前作でも見られた形態がクレジットから見られます。

　少し難解なながら哲学的な詞、哀愁漂うメロディー、ハスキーで心和ませながらもしっかりと心に伝わるボーカル、ロックというカテゴリーにとらわれないセンスがミックスされ!た作品になっています。

前回のライブ盤から2年間待たされ、しかも久々のスタジオ録音ですがタイトルに相応しい神聖な、しかしエスニックな雰囲気が全体に漂っています。一筋縄ではいかないメロディ、曲間の繋がりは挑戦的でもありますが、全体構成はまとまっており、円熟の域に達したスティングこそが創り出せるストーリーとなっています。特にタイトル曲の“Sacred Love”にこのアルバムの特徴が凝縮されています。これまでスティングを聞き込んできた方にはこの深化がご理解いただけるはずですし、そのような方にこそ聞いていただきたいと思います。とにかく味わい深い、しかも素直にカッコいいスティングを満喫できます。何度聞いても飽きません。お薦めです！

80年代半ばからPolice, Stingを聞きはじめ、
ライブもいろんなところで見た。
3 penny operaなんてのも見に行った。
CDはなんども聞いて歌詞も覚えた。

まだかまだかと待ち望んでいた4年ぶりの新譜なのに
感激があまりなくたまにしか聞いてない。
なんでだろ？自分自身音楽への関心が低くなっている
のも事実なんだけど、それにしても...???

最後のテクノ(死語と思いきや何度か生き返っている？)調

Send You Loveなんか、Stingがよくやる『遊び』

なんだけど正直言ってつまらない。

とりあえずまた何度か聞いてみるようにします....
