当時はリズム隊が弱いとか、軟弱になったとか言われていましたが、新しいルースターズの始まりとして愛聴しておりました。下山さんのギターが前面に出始めていて、楽曲もポップな作風が多いです。（Out Landは今でもよく聴きます）個人的に花田さんの歌も違和感なく聴けますね。浮遊感漂う、不思議なアルバム。やはり「Φ」と裏表の感じもしますが.....。でもかっこよいですね、やはり。

もし大江がリタイアした時点でルースターズが解散していたら、当然ながら伝説のバンドとして神格化されていたであろうが、ギタープレーヤーの花田がＲ＆Ｒジプシーズを率いるまでの求心力を備え、最強のモチベーションで「解散」するためにはこのアルバム以後のROOSTERZ期が必要不可欠だった。
強迫神経症の私にとって大江の存在は魅力的だったが、同時に強力な磁場を持つブラックホールでもあり、本能的に花田のルースターズにロックンロールへの回帰を求めていた。
このアルバムが「φ」の中途半端な焼き直しだとしても、それぞれの曲にはロックンロールを持続しようとする花田の強靭な意思が感じられる。"DONT YOU CRY"のスカスカの躍動感はこの時期ならではの魅力に溢れている。
幸か不幸か初めて見た当時のルースターズは大江の不在を背負う悲壮感は全くなく、ロックするという行為そのものの開放感に満ちたものだった。
