ひとことで言うと、美メロを奏でるUKロック・バンド・サウンド。題名の「ディクライン（衰退）」ということばがすべてを物語る、どこか退廃的で起伏の激しいフロー。くぐもっているけどシャープな質感。ニュー・ウェイヴ調、パンキッシュな曲もあり、60、70年代ロックを思わせるキーボードの響く曲もあり。
ただ、メロディ、そしてヴォーカル・スタイルの幅は広いことが個性と言えばそれまでですが、どこか焦点が絞れていない気もします。（それが気になるかたには、このファーストの後のセカンド『オープン・シーズン』のほうをオススメします。セカンドのほうは芯の通った強さで押してくるアルバムなので。）
聴きどころは、激しい序盤ではなく、穏やかな中盤でしょう。すなわち、メジャー・コード、ミディアム・テンポの美しいメロディをギター中心にメロウに奏でるバンド全体のアンサンブルの連続でしょう。
ザ・ポリス、デヴィッド・ボウイ、U２、ティアーズ・フォー・フィアーズなど、UKロックの良質の部分を継承しながらも、自分たちのもち味を出しているのがすばらしい、と思います。
ボーナス・トラック二曲も、決して質の低いものではありません。
CDに貼られている宣伝ステッカーの文句にもあるように、商業主義的な大勢に流されない知的なリスナー向け。
歌詞がついていないのは残念。

とにかくUK好きな人にはかなりキテルでしょう。特に゛Remember Me"は最高。シングルとしては久々にやられた思う出来でした。80'Sリヴァプールサイケ（TEADROPSやMIGHTY WAH！あたりのカンジ）やPIXIESあたりのカンジも入ってる（ってことは、ナンバーガール的な曲もある）。あんまり何かに似てるだとか言うと構えてしまうと思いますが､UK好きな人(ジョージ・マイケルのファンだと言う人には薦められませんが、ちょっと文学的ゆーか、うつむきがちゆーか、ジメっとした、コレだとあんまりいい表現は無いですね、要はジョージ・マイケルのようなカンジではないってことか）は一聴の価値があるのでは．．．。最初は、後半タルいなと思いましたが、そんなの抜きで最高。間違っても軽い気持ちで、歌謡曲好きな人は手を出さないで！
