１ｓｔの良さをさらに高めた作品である。
これは間違いなく名盤です。
一切捨て曲がなくボーナストラックの
ピアノバラードすらめちゃ良い曲である。
一曲一曲がすばらしいだけでなくアルバムとしてまとまっているのが
最大の特徴だと思う。
各曲は良いのになぜかアルバムとして聴くとピンとこない作品が
ある中このアルバムの持つ統一感はすごい。

いろんな曲調で幅を出すのではなく、
ジャーニー路線のメロディアスハードポップ一本に絞り
それを高めて追求していってるのだが、それが見事なまでの完成度。
ロブのクセのないクリスタルハイトーンの歌唱力もすばらしいし
なんといってもハーモニーとフックがすばらしい。
曲も爽やかでメロディアスで曲によっては哀愁もあり良い。
数曲の捨て曲や曲順で良いアルバムになれないものが多い中
このアルバムは厳しめに見てもケチのつけようのないアルバムである。
最近ではめったに名盤に巡り会わないのだが、
これは名盤と断言してもいいと思う。
ただ、１ｓｔ→２ｎｄ→３ｒｄと１年おきで出している短い制作期間
の影響からなのか、次の３ｒｄは少し完成度が落ちてしまう。
１ｓｔと２ｎｄがすばらしいから、
同等のものをつい求めてしまうのもコクではあるが・・。

VON GROOVEのムラデン・ヘイズ<G>とMORATTIのロブ・モラッティ<Vo>によるメロディック・ロック・プロジェクト、FINAL FRONTIERの2ndアルバム。

JOURNEYやBOSTON、STYXといった'80年代の古き良き時代のメロディック・ロックを想起させる素晴らしいアルバムだ。

ロブの伸びやかなハイトーン・ヴォイスの魅力を存分に伝える1、アップ・テンポの2に始まり、サビが印象的な6、FIREHOUSE辺りを思わせる7、ラストの美しいバラード11に至るまで、捨て曲一切なしの充実した楽曲群。とりわけ、キャッチーで可愛らしいラヴ・ソング8から、初期BON JOVIを思わせるキャッチーなロック・チューン9への流れは秀逸だ。

彼らの最大の魅力は随所にフックを備えたキャッチーなメロディであるが、それらを更に魅力的なものにするのがNEW ENGLANDばりの美しいコーラスだ。彼らの生み出す極上のハーモニーは、周囲に爽やかな風を運んでくる。実に気持ちのいい風だ。

メロディアスな音楽を愛する者全てに贈られたクリスマス・プレゼント。メロディ派は必聴必携の１枚だ。
