初期のクローネンバーグ監督作品。精神科医ラグランのもとで
ある研究の実験になっている主人公の妻ノーラ。その研究とは
人間の怒りを、対外的なものに置き換えるというものだった。

目をそむけるような怖さではなく、精神的に重みのある怖い作品。
主人公とそのまわりに関わりのある人々の人間ドラマが絶妙に絡み
合い味のある正統派ホラー映画に仕上がっています。
「シーバース」や「ラビッド」と同じくかなり後味の悪いラストは
「実は自分の親は犬だった！」というくらいインパクトあります。
未見の方はぜひ観てみて下さい。★４個。

監督クローネンバーグが自分の作品中、最も思い入れのある映画と語っているだけあって、シンプルな設定なれど、奥の深い、幅の広い作品となっている。

怒りを具現化して取り除くという精神療法により、事件が起こっていくのだが、ＣＧとかで出来たクリーチャーではなく、一見、子供のような姿で現れるため違う恐怖を生むことに成功していると思う。増殖する怒りは、全ての人間が持っている恐怖と同じなのでは・・・　　　　
考えさせられます・・・

全部見た訳ではありませんが、クローネンバーグ監督作品の中でこれが一番好きです。
私が劇場鑑賞した「戦慄の絆」の方が一般的な評価は高いですし、「デッド・ゾーン」も良いですがキングの原作に比べると大分物足りなさを感じました。
ということで、これが一番好きです。
なにせ怪物が不気味、殺人シーン（特に子供の前での．．．）の演出が怖いです。ラストも嫌な感じでした（誉めています！）。
生体的なホラー映画好きの方にはかなりお薦めですが、怖がりの方は決して観ないでください。
