デュラン・デュランの名盤で捨て曲がないです。初めてこのアルバムを聴いたのは20年前ですが、
今でも飽きません。最近になって再び買いましたが、デジタルリマスタリングされて音が良くなった
気がします。「セイヴ・ア・プレイヤー」は本当に良い曲だと思います。
ジョン・テイラーのベースの音が目立ちますね。

1982年リリース。彼らの2ndアルバム。
彼らはまさにMTV世代にぴったりマッチしたバンドとしてスタートした。つまりはルックスも優れていた、ということでもある。しかしながらよく耳をすませば（●＾o＾●）、彼らのワザも相当のレベルであることがこの2ndでも気がつく。アイドルが実力が無いとは限らない、といういい例だろう。

このアルバムは全英9位/全米14位だったが、『ハングリー・ライ・ザ・ウルフ』は全英5位/全米3位、『セイヴ・ア・プレイヤー』は全英2位と確実に人気バンドに成っていく。この後、ハードさとメロディアスさをより増していくわけだが既に充分に魅力的である。

今聴くとキーボードのフレージングと音色に時代を感じたりする。（●＾o＾●）

かれこれ20年前、中学生だった私が学校から
帰ってきて毎日かかざず聞いていたアルバムがこれ！
理由なんてないんです。duranduranが大好き。
まさに私の青春だ！ただ表紙があまりにもダサいので星４つです。
