日本のアニメやディズニーアニメでアニメを知った気になっては
ならない。世界は広いしアニメは奥深い。それを痛感させてくれる
人がチェコアニメ界の巨匠、イジィ・トルンカ。
ちなみにトルンカの日本人弟子は、ＮＨＫ人形劇シリーズ｢三国志｣や
｢平家物語｣で有名な、日本における人形劇の大御所・川本喜八郎。

トルンカと言えば「真夏の夜の夢」や｢手｣、｢電子頭脳おばあちゃん｣等が
有名。

「チェコの古代伝説」はあの全盛時における第14回ヴェネチア国際映画祭
銀獅子賞を受賞（ちなみにこの年の金獅子賞は該当作品無しで、
実質的な最高賞に当たる銀獅子賞の同時受賞としては、溝口健二の
｢雨月物語｣やフェリーニの｢青春群像｣。）、「動物たちと山賊」は

記念すべき第1回カンヌ映画祭（アヌシー国際アニメーション映画祭が出て
くる前）にて、あのウォルト・ディズニーやポール・グリモーと競い、
トリック映画最優秀賞を受賞したようだが、公式記録が日本のサイトでは
見つからなかったけど真偽の程は如何に？
とは言うものの、あのジャン・コクトーや手塚治虫といった
世界の映像作家に多大な影響を与えたのは紛れもない事実。
アニメの古典であり、アニメを研究するにおいてトルンカは避けては
通れない偉大な道なのである。

パペットアニメーションの長編「チェコの古代伝説」とセルアニメーションの短編「動物たちと山賊」が収録されてます。チェコの古代伝説は噂に違わず凄くて、大叙事詩で大スペクタクルシーン有りです、音楽もぴったりだと思います。でも楽しいとか明るいとかでは全然無くて、ゲージツ的と言いますか、途中で色がアンニュイなものですから、睡眠不足だと眠気が・・・。で、これってチャプターで区切られて無いのです、特に一時間を越える長編でチャプター無いのは辛いです・・・、寝てしまったらビデオのように延々と早送り・・・。話に区切りが無いわけでは無いので大きく３つとかでも良いのでチャプター入れて欲しかったです・・・。
