それは、ヤン・ティルセンの新譜ということで気になってはいたけれどまだ手にしていない時。私は某テレビ番組のＢＧＭにくぎ付けになりました。それは、一度も聴いたことのない曲で、しかも“楽器の演奏だけなのに”、確かにヤン・ティルセンの曲だと直感したのです。そしてすぐに買い求め、見事に的中してしまいました。

“この音は彼でしかあり得ない！”という音なのです…。

『アメリ』で有名になったヤン・ティルセンですが、あの面白く軽妙なアコーディオンの世界とは別に、彼にはとても深遠な感性があります。私はその深遠な感性の方こそ、彼の醍醐味、世界観だと思います。そしてこの作品は、その「深遠」な部分を十二分に見せてくれます。

ヤン・ティルセンは楽器を多様に操り、「一人でオーケストラを演じる男」とも称された人です。この作品の骨はピアノです。ピアノが繊細に大胆に流れてゆく中、その低音に混じりコントラバスが胸の底に響き、突然破裂音のようなトランペットが静寂を切り裂きます。煽情されるようなはっとする音です。それからこもったオーボエやクラリネット等の管楽器も、霧がかったドイツ的なムードを演出します。

でも決して暗くはありません。言うなれば、「一面の霧か靄に一条の光が射す…」といった感じです。悔い改まりたくなるような、心が洗浄されるような音楽です。

最近方々の番組のＢＧＭで聴かれるヤン・ティルセンですが、これは、ステレオの前かヘッドホンで、聴き入るべき音楽だと思います！ただのサントラでは終わりませんよ！

映画『グッバイ・レーニン』成功の功績の半分は
このヤン・ティルセンの紡ぎだした音楽によるものではないか？
と思わせてくれるゴキゲンなサントラ。

少しもドイツ（しかも東！）らしくない
軽快なリズムと弾んだメロディーは
意外にも急速に資本主義化していく東ベルリンに
ぴったりとマッチし、はまっていた。

時に見せる欧風の憂いを含んだ旋律は

変わりゆく街並みへのノスタルジーだ。
映画館を出た後、思わず口ずさんでしまう、
魔力に満ちたサントラであることは間違いない！

　とかく織りなす音楽は、全面に寂寞とした感じが出ていて美しいです。サマー７８の歌詞はお母さんの感覚なんでしょうか、個人的には東西ドイツやらユダヤ人やら朝鮮の人々やら、多くの人々が直面しただろう歴史を思い出し複雑な思いにとらわれます。作曲者の彼は「アメリ」で有名ですが、所々アメリっぽさもかいま見られて面白いですよ。映画を見て音楽に心とらわれちゃった人やヨーロッパ的ジメジメ感が好きな人にはおすすめできます。
　割り切れなさの残る、純文学の様な作品です。
