羽田健太郎氏初のサントラ作品集として発売された本作ですが、収録曲の３分の１程度が初ＣＤ化もしくは初音盤化の音源で占められています。聴き終えた感想としましては、一作品当たりの収録曲が少なすぎて欲求不満が募る。２枚組では少なすぎるという感じですね。まあ、「ハネケン入門」あるいは「ハネケン音楽カタログ」として聴けば良い作品だと思います。最後に、このＣＤを契機にハネケンさんの未ＣＤ化及び未音盤化作品が一つでも多くＣＤ化されることを期待します。

　バルディオスの主題歌が入っているので購入を決めた。ロボットものに思えない
出来に、当時主題歌が聴きたくてリアルタイムで見ていた。レコードを買うまでに
至らなかったが、最近ふと、そのことを思いだし、探してみた。
　ＣＤには宝島や西部警察の曲、ヤマト完結編の曲、渡る世間と、あ〜これ羽田さ
んの曲だったんだ〜と知り、その記憶に残る曲の多さに彼のすごさを感じた。
　いわば自分はハネケン初心者なので、丁度良いガイドブックのような存在になった。
これを聞き、もっと彼の世界を知りたくなった。ただのピアノ弾いてる感じのいい
おじさんと思っていた自分が恥ずかしい。

１ｓｔガンダム世代が５０歳に達するまでもう１０年をきってしまった今となっては、もはや日本人の心象風景を彩る音のひとつと言えるかもしれない。
世界に誇れる美音メイカー、究極職人、羽田健太郎のサントラ作品集。

リリース年を見たら２００３年。当時はまだハネケンさんは御存命である。
作品集なんか出ていて当然なはずだからちゃんと探せばいいものを、なんで今まで本気で探そうとしなかったのか自分でも不思議。
たぶん携わった仕事の数も当然ながら、ジャンルも多岐に渡るので、なんとな〜く諦めていたのだと思う。
それぐらいの方なので。

他の方のレビューにもあるとおり、確かに内容としては若干もの足りないところはある。
例えばDISC-1のM17は「超時空要塞マクロス」の戦闘シーンで流れる、かの有名な曲であるが、一方で肝心の主題歌が収録されていない。あの曲は知名度もさることながら、彼の音楽性を知るうえでも絶好のサンプルであるはずなのだが。
まあそのへんは“渡る世間は大人の事情”ってやつなのか・・・。

個人的にはDISC-1のM10だけでも充分に購入する価値があるのだが、加えて同M2、M17、さらにDISC-2のM1とか、その他いろいろおまけしてもらった気分になれる。
つまるところ、これもまたコストパフォーマンスが年齢に比例する、そんな１枚（・・・２枚か）。

オヤジが昔を懐かしむだけでは勿体なさ過ぎる。
若い世代にも是非聞いて欲しい。

残念なのはやはりこの後が続いてないことか。
今からでもいいから第２弾、３段と企画して欲しいと思う。
とりあえずリクエストとしては「名探偵ホームズ」のOP/EDあたりで。
