   スイス生まれのブランド、Zyliss（チリス）。1950年代に、ある自転車修理工が、玉ねぎを切るたびに涙を流している奥さんのために「玉ねぎチョッパー」を作ったのがその始まりといわれている。その逸話が示すように、誰もが思う「こういう道具があったらいいのに」という希望を形にしてきたのがこのブランドだと言えるだろう。

   この「ストロングボーイ」、つまりはフタ開けである。瓶などに使われているネジ式のフタが開かなくて困ったという経験は誰にでも一度はあるもの。この製品を使えば、どんなに固く閉まっていても少ない力で楽にオープンでき、フタを痛めることもない。キッチンにおける男性の地位を脅かす（？）、技ありの一品なのだ。（櫻田もんがい）

私は１６年前からこれを使っていますが、本当に便利ですよ。大きさを調節できるので、ペットボトルの栓のように小さなものから、大きな物までこれひとつで空けられます。本当に力がいらないので、手や腕を痛くすることなくお料理ができるので本当にお勧めです。何年も使えるのでこのお値段でも高いと言う感じは持っていません。

さびてしまいどうにもこうにも開かなかった瓶のフタ、ストロングボーイで開きました！1度じゃびくともしなかったのですが少し閉める場所をずらしてもう一度試したら、すうっとうそのように開きました。これはびっくりしました！！！これがあればもうキッチンで満身の力を込めるなんて事は無くなると思います！

我が家の2代目のオープナーで10年近く使用してます。
普段は引き出しの中で眠っていますが、
必要と呼ばれたときには良い仕事をしてくれます。

蓋オープナーは使う人によってピッタリくる商品が違っており、
それぞれ一長一短があります。

この商品の利点は、
・直径1.5cmから10cm位までの対応範囲の広さ
・20cm位の長さがあるため少しの力でＯＫ！
・蓋を傷めることがない
・箸箱ほどの大きさで収納場所を選ばない

また欠点？は、
・蓋にセッティングするのがちょっと手間
・おしりのネジを締めるときにも若干の力が必要(老人は難？)
・機械モノの苦手な人は使い方に迷うかも･･･？

稀にこのオープナーでも滑ることがありますが、
濡れた布巾を蓋に被せて滑りを止めれば大丈夫！
他のオープナーでは出来ないことです。

頻繁に蓋開けをする必要のある人は別の商品が便利かもしれません。
(もしくはこれとシリコン製商品などとの併用でも)
でも広い守備範囲の「ストロングボーイ」君は、
本当に固く締まった蓋開けのときに助けてくれるでしょう！
