両陣営に真の首魁たるシャインとビッグワンが登場という急激な作品空気の入れ替えの巻。宮内洋氏の一人舞台の色彩が濃くなり,サイボーグの描写も本巻の27話の地雷源の透視と飛び越え,最終話の再手術程度しか見られないのも惜しまれます。しかしながら,劇中その件はないが念力波で再生するカマキリ大酋長のような新たな難敵に抗すべく,新兵装ビッグボンバーにさらに変化機能が備わったように思え,前作が最終話も一話完結なことを鑑みると後年の作品群の大河ドラマ的構成への示唆も少なからずあったのでしょう。又,怪獣･怪人好きとして見ると以降の怪人達は鮮烈なアイデンティティを漲らせ,変装合戦の陰に隠れがちだが[アパッチ軍団]と称するクライマーを率いるカマキリ大酋長も,表出させています。声の担当飯塚昭三氏は本巻所収の怪人の半分を担当され,他のアリンガム将軍とキャプテンゴーストでは軍人気質と怪奇色を出されています(後者は石ノ森氏お気に入りの骸骨モチーフに負けない印象深さがある)。同氏の｢ハンバー喰え」｢タイム･タムタム､タイム移動｣等,ベーダー怪物の1体1体の個性的台詞に繋がるものがあり,地獄天使の偽善ぶりは同じ丸山詠二氏が担当されたサメモズーを見た時に思い出すところもありました。かように視野を広げて再視聴すると,また別に感じることも大でしょう。

「ジャッカー電撃隊」のDVD第5巻が登場です!!この巻には第24話「悪魔か?天使か?!不思議な笛吹き男」〜第29話「行くぞ七変化!鉄の爪〈アイアンクロー〉対ビッグワン」までの6話が収録されています。この巻では前巻収録の第23話から登場したビッグワンの活躍が存分に楽しめます!!バリエーションに富んだ変装はビッグワンの魅力です。また、ビッグワンとエース、ジャック、キング、クインの5人で繰り出す新必殺技「ビックボンバー」はビッグワンが登場したからこその技だと思います!!
