プログレという範疇にとらわれず、ロック全体においても十指に入るだろうと思われる、ほんとに超傑作。これは必聴。
収録曲三曲みないうまでもなく名曲だが、やはり一曲目の表題曲につきる。数ある十分越えＬＰ片面大作の中でも、この「危機」はメロディー、構成、演奏、ともに最高峰であると確信する。二十分という長丁場を飽きさせずに聴かせているのは、全編にわたって繰り広げられる緊張感あふれる演奏もそうだが、それにもまして起承転結のはっきりしたドラマチックでかつ分かりやすい構成のおかげだと思う。大作慣れしていない人でも、だれることなく聴くことが出来るだろう。
それに加えてこの曲のもつ言葉では語りつくせない壮大さと神秘性と、意味の分からない歌詞、そしてロジャーディーンによる美しいジャケット。すべてにおいて完璧な、奇跡の一枚である。

あまりにも有名な「こわれもの」の次に録音された「劍機」は、言うまでもなく傑作です。このＣＤはリマスーで音が良くなった上に、ボーナストラックが素晴らしい。サイモン＆ガーファンクルの「アメリカ」のシングルバージョン、「全体保持」のシングルバージョントランティックは、このメンバーにシングル盤制作を要求したのは一寸ひどいと思うが、今となっては、貴重な音源）「And You And I」の別バージョン、「Siberian Khatru」のスタジオランスルー（スタジオライブと言って良いでしょう）の４曲も付いてこの価格。今まで持っていたＣＤをどうすれば良いのか、ファンを惑わせますが、最後のスタジオライブの演奏技量の高さは、素晴らしいの一言。迷わず手に入れるべきでしょう。メーカーさんも罪な事やりますなあ。

結局買わずにおられない１枚。ほとんど知っているというより聞き込んだ曲ばかりなんですが、あまりにも評判がいいので買ってしまいました。損はしません。究極の名作「危機」に素晴らしいボーナストラックが盛り沢山。他にもいっぱい隠れた音源があるんでしょうね。聞いてみたいです。
