「さくら」も好きなんですが、私にとっては「夏の終わり」の方がなぜか思い入れが強いです。透きとおった声で徐々に高まってくる曲の始まりの部分が特に好き。美しくてまず圧倒されてしまいました。1フレーズづつ丁寧にしっかり歌いこんでいるのが手にとるように分かります。歌詞が素通りせずに耳の中に残るってこういうことなんだなぁ、と改めて分からせてくれる一曲。

好きな人と歩いた小道を一人で歩いたり，
月の綺麗な夏の夜に風が冷たくなってきたり，
私はそんな状況に遭遇するとこの曲を口ずさんでしまいます｡

夏の終わり頃の思い出を，
胸に大切にしまっておきたい人は，
この曲とともに素敵な思い出にするとよいでしょう｡

もしこの曲の歌詞や曲調を
森山直太郎さんが自分で作っているんだとしたら
この曲は名曲だと思います。
おそらく森山直太郎さんは10年後も
歌い続けているでしょう。
