Akasawa(独)=Akasava(英)と云う土地で特殊な鉱石を発見したForrest博士が其の鉱石と共に消息を絶つと云う事件が発生。早速、SIS(英国対外防諜局)の女性エージェントJane Morgan(Soledad Miranda)や博士の甥を自称する青年(実はロンドン警視庁の捜査官)らが現地に結集するが...本作はJesus Franco監督がEdgar Wallaceの原作を映像化したスパイ映画の珍作であり、どう観ても｢ホラー映画｣ではありません。又、｢グロテスクな描写｣だとか｢エロティックなシーン｣も殆どゼロです。勿論、毎度お馴染みとさえ云えるSoledad Mirandaのダンス･シーンは今回も登場しますが、本作ではSoledad Mirandaの役其のものが比較的小さいので、目立つほどのものではありません。基本的に1950年代風スパイ映画に過ぎない本作はJ.Francoファン･オンリー向け作品であると言えるでしょう。
