闇の淵でもがき続けてきたような彼らの楽曲は『未来』で明らかなターニングポイントを迎えた。こうして、大人になるための前進がはじまった。それはたやすいことではないだろう。時には後退する日もあるだろう。きっと命がけの地を這うような匍匐前進になる。
そんな彼らの『未来』に続けて考えると、いちにいさんぽめ。

丸くなった、とか、ポップになった、とか、そう言われているけど、まあ、それには一理あるし、否定はしない。しかし、それのどこがいけない？
停滞は後退である。少年のままで居続けるのは、とても辛いことだ。
少年の狂気じみた激情と、大人の理知的な視線を今以上に併せ持った彼らを想像すると、死ぬほどぞくぞくする。

歌詞から情景が浮かんでくる。
こんな声があるんだ、と、なんだか嬉しくなる。
〔…線路の冷たさに触れて初めて、自分の体温を感じた。
必死で燃えてる赤い命が、生きていたいと確かに告げた…〕
この声で、この歌詞を聴いて欲しい。
学校の校舎裏で、屋上で、じっとこれを聞いて欲しいような、

寒い風の吹く公園や、ビル街で、じっとこれを聞いて欲しいような、
そんな風に思ってしまった。

なぜこのバンドは、生きることにこうも必死なんだろう。
“赤い命が「生きていたい」と確かに告げた”と歌う「生命線」。
痛々しく尖った言葉が、残酷なまでに美しいアルペジオが、きりきりと胸を刺す。
LIVEトラック「ひとり言」はやたらと粗い録音で、それだけに鬼気迫った臨場感あり。
「思春歌」は、彼らにしてはちょっと丸くなり過ぎちゃったかも。
