クオリティの高さが嬉しい。今年５月のＴＶスペシャル版に引けをとらない。ただ時間の関係で、原作のストーリーが大幅にカットされているのが残念。原作を読んでいる人はちょっと物足りなさが残るはず（ドラゴンフィッシュ・ブローの解説は・・・？）。

しかし、相変わらずボクシングシーンがかっこいい。第９ラウンドにＢＧＭで流れる「INNER　LIGHT」がマッチしまくり。鷹村のような野生はなく、一歩のような爆発力もなく、青木のような技巧派（ある種）でもない木村が、自分だけの武器を身に付けベルトを奪いに行く姿が最高にカッコいいんだなぁ。
木村の肝臓打ちに間柴が苦悶の表情。

「挑戦者、ベルトは目の前だ！王座は、目の前だぁ！！」
「いやだ、負けるのはいやだ~~~！！」
「見えた、ベルトだ！この手が伸びきればアレに手が届く！！」
「負けられねぇんだよ~~~！！」
「届けぇ~~~！！」

・・・・・・木村さん、あんたかっけぇよ・・・・・（感涙

自分の中ではじめの一歩史上、鷹村VSブライアンホークと並ぶベストバウト。
このDVDだけ見てもそれなりに楽しめるが、原作での木村の扱いや立ち位置を知っていると、さらなる感動が沸き上がってくる。
この試合以降の木村の扱いがベラボーにひどいのは、この試合で男を上げすぎた木村と作品本筋のバランスを考えた配慮だと思える。それほどこのエピソードは燃える。それは、木村が自分達とかわらないただの凡人であること。一歩や鷹村のような才能も花もなく、青木のような盛り上げ役的なセンスもない。
ただの凡人。
その凡人が、人間離れした怪物王者、間柴に挑む。
自分のしてきた努力だけを信じて。。
「何度サンドバックを叩いただろう。五年間気のとおくなる程、数をうちこんだ。。すべては、、すべては、、この一撃のために!」熱すぎます。
チャンピオン間柴の人間性もよくでています。
彼のおかげで、凡人木村がいっそう際立った。
「認めよう。。こいつは、最強の挑戦者だぁぁあ!」熱すぎます。
意識が無くなったまま一人で戦い続ける木村に、大歓声と、名曲『夕空の紙飛行機』が降り注ぐシーンは、ただただ感動。

間柴対木村…原作では何回読んだか分かりません。何回泣いたかも分からない。
めちゃくちゃ好きな試合なので、OVAかなり期待してたんですけど…。
悪くは無かったけど、原作には遠く及ばないってのが正直な感想。それでも格好いいのが凄いけど。
原作読む前にOVA見るのはオススメしたくないですね。

すごく面白いです。ボクシング漫画に興味のない人でも楽しめる内容なんじゃないかと思います。
