グラッペリすごいですね。　あんなに弾きまくれるもんなんだとはっきり言って驚きました。　本当にもうこの世にいないなんて残念すぎる。
　映像としてはグラッペリのプレイが堪能できるしゲストのデビットグリスマンは1曲しかないけどとても若くすごく皆楽しそうに弾いている。見ながらついついつられて笑ってしまいました。　ちゃんと日本製のDVDプレーヤーでも見れましたよ。

ステファングラッペリがジャンゴラインハルトと演っていた頃の「ジプシースィングもの」も素晴らしいですが、このDVDのようにマーチンテイラーと一緒に演奏するスィングジャズは必見、必聴ものです。また最後にデヴィッドグリスマン、ダロルアンガー、マイクマーシャルらとのセッションも最高です。

　前半が1982年7月4日サラトガでの野外ライヴ、後半が1982年7月7日サンフランシスコのGreat American Music Hallでのコンサート。ドラムレスのバンドでの演奏で、メンバーはディズ・ディズリー、マーティン・テイラー、ジャック・ソーイング。ゲストでデヴィッド・グリスマンやマイク・マーシャル、ダロル・アンガー、ロブ・ワッサーマンなどが参加するという超豪華な面子です。曲は見ての通りの16曲で、2日分の演奏ですが重複曲はありません。グラッペリの演奏はいつもクオリティが高いですが、ここでも無理の無い安定した演奏が楽しめます。グラッペリの意外とちゃんと弾いているピアノとか、若々しいM.テイラーなども見所ですよ。半値以下の廉価盤・日本仕様盤が出回っていますが、字幕はないものの内容は同じようです。映像はリマスターされていませんが十分許容範囲。グラッペリの映像作品は少ないし貴重だと思います。
