5.0 out of 5 stars Ｄｉｓｋ2のＤＶＤがＭＴＶ世代には涙もの, 2005/4/15
80年代プロモーションビデオが当たり前な時代に洋楽を聴いた世代に
とって、Disk2のDVDにはきっと貴重な音源が幾つか見つかるはずだ。
個人的にはTVK（テレビ神奈川）で洋楽を観ていた頃が懐かしく、
当時ハードロックのジャンルで何度も流されていたのがクイーンズ
ライチの「女王の国」とMSGの「クライ・フォー・ザ・ネーションズ」だった。
私はこれらの映像が忘れられなかったので発売後すぐに購入した。
久しぶりに観るとまた新たな発見もある。
Disk1のCDも確かに関係者の努力が窺える構成ではあるが、
何と言ってもDVDが永久保存版モノだと思う。

東芝EMI所属アーティストを核に、1980年代のハードロック・ヘヴィメタルの曲・映像を収録した資料価値の高い一品。

'80年代と言えばハードロック・ヘヴィメタルが音楽シーンのメインストリームとなった時代であり、その一端としてMTVの存在が挙げられるだろう。

ハードロック・ヘヴィメタルのプロモ映像は、作品としてリリースしている（出来る）バンドが限られていた事や、当時TV放映される番組も限られていたこと等から、今となってはレア映像と化しているケースが殆どだろう。その点においては貴重な資料であることは間違いない。

DVDに収録されたプロモの数々はジャンル・出身国・キャリアを問わずヴァラエティに富んだいるが、当時のハードロック・ヘヴィメタルバンドはレコード会社の戦略によってプロモを作成する事が「当然」だったような時代であった事の象徴とも言えるだろう。

旧来のロックファンは純粋に懐かしむもよし、若いファンは新たな発見をするもよし。

反社会的、カウンターカルチャーと呼ばれていたハードロック・ヘヴィメタルが一躍、時代の寵児となった時代の一部を垣間見ることが出来る今作品が、新たなハードロック・ヘヴィメタルのムーヴメントを予感させる2004年にリリースされた事が非常に興味深い。

　現在のロックとはまた違った曲が聞ける。
まさにソロ重視、ギター重視だったころの音楽だ。
テクニックがどんどん押し出された音楽は、ギターを弾いている人間には堪らないだろう。
　東芝EMIの音源で構成されたこのアルバムだが、東芝が80年代、90年代初期にいかにロックに力を入れていたのかがよく分かる。

　曲のほうだが、現在のハードロックとは違ったつくりになっている。しかしながら、現在のロック、ハードロック、へヴィーメタル、メロスピなどに十分通ずるものを感じることができる。また、バラードなども含まれており、アルバム全体としも聞きやすい。各々の曲については、名曲と呼ばれるものばかりで文句はない。

　ぜひ、昔のロックに興味はあったけどどこから手を付けたらいいのか分からなかった人、80年代のハードロックを復習したい人にお勧めです。
